Good game if you are a BLITZ fan. However the violence is taken to the next level. It's not creative or to much different from the last of the series except for some disgustingly graphic muscle-tearing sequences that happen about 5 times a game. Not only is it completely un-realistic in every way, but now it's just gross shock-value disgusting. I've seen reactions from 10 differnt people playing the game for the first time, and the inition blitz 1 reactions of a light "haha ooowwww!" , are replaced by blank stares and cringing remarks of "ewwww, damn... what?!" Hail-maries are still hands down the best/easiest play and the gamesplay isn't amazingly smooth. This is NOT a game for a football critic or expert, In fact there are multiple points where it has just gone buggy and james after a touchdown, or the camera has wacked out. The anouncer is also a negative, being annoying as hell, lound, and uninformative. All this is topped off with the most reduculous after touchdown celebrations that feature poor voice-acting and corny sound effects to take your feeling of being a B.A football master, and smash it to the ground with pre-made celebration sequences that make Hairy Potter look cool again. All in all, if you like the previous BLITZ tm. games than you should pick this one up. It features everything from the old arcade-style games and adds a few cool twists and a nice soundtrack. If you can get away from the gross pictures of tearing flesh and over the top violence then you will enjoy this game. 1-10 Scale Game play 6 Story line 5 Graphics 6 soundtrack 9 Overall = 6.5Read full review
I'm not a huge sports games fanatic so I was always drawn more to Blitz games rather the Madden. The lack of rules always made this title easier for me to enjoy, the last installment had a decent story (for a footbal game)which doesn't fail in this game eithrr. The injuries that happened during the 1st game were a funny throw in, now I really like the feature where you can aim where your hit is to help injure a certain part of the body instead of just random injuries. If you enjoyed any of the Blitz games this one will not dissappoint, and the price at most major retailers are around $40 so it is a steal compared to the $60 price tag of most popular games.
For anyone who has followed Blitz this game is a great addition to the collection. I think it stayed true to Blitz the League and kept it's originality as opposed to all the Madden imitators. The Campaign Mode and Extras were excellent. This game is better than the previous version in that it allows a lot more options for training and upgrades. It also adds sponsors and girlfriends to keep the story interesting. Overall very well done and since as far as I've heard Midway no longer exists, this may be the end of Blitz. I don't really see any negatives to the game. It is Blitz...no surprises. There are a few extras that make the game fun but it is still Blitz and that's what I wanted. (Side-note: One thing I did notice was in Campaign mode I was focused more on my player than the overall team performance. Kind of like fantasy football as opposed to cheering for your favorite team.)Read full review
The game would play for thirty minutes and an error message pops up saying the disc is unreadable and returns to my Xbox home screen.

I'm a sports nut to start with. I also love games where you can follow a storyline and upgrade equipment. The announcing by Frank Caliendo is perfect, and Jay Mohr is great casting for the agent. My favorite part may have been the way your positions are revealed by your press conference answers. This game is definitely worth playing, and the cost makes it a great buy.
