This game is a nice improvement over the original FIFA game for the PSP that came out in 2005. You get the full compliment of leagues and rosters with real players. You can play quick games, tournaments, or play in a manager mode that is similar to franchise mode in Madden. Manger mode is the most fun as you take complete control of a team and deal with player with player acquisitions, the media, the fans, your boss and even sponsors. If you don't meet certain requirements like cups, winning the league or avoiding relegation, you might lose your job. Also you have to keep players happy or your team chemistry will suffer. For those who have played earlier FIFA versions on the PSP or on PS2, the controls are intuitive and easy to pick up. For those who haven't the controls might take a little getting used to. Overall, the graphics in the game are pretty good, though I think the players can stand to be a little bigger on screen. The stadiums look excellent and the fan chants really had to the atmosphere. The commentary is also top notch and keeps the game interesting. My only gripe is with the PSP analog controller (nub). It is not as precise as I would like. Sometimes, I cannot control the players the way I would like to due to this issue. I suppose that this is a PSP issue and not a problem with the game. One other note is that the game sometimes causes the PSP to restart for no apparent issue. Doing some research on google, I found out that I am not the only one who has this problem so there is something slightly amiss with the game. The restarts are not that frequent. I noticed that if I make a substitution at halftime in manager mode the game sometimes restarts! So to avoid that, I make substitutions right after the start of the second half. Since then I haven't had any in game restarts just one more when I was in the office menu of manager mode. It can be disconcerting as you will lose any unsaved data. So it is important to enable auto-save. Otherwise this is a complete soccer title that is really fun to play. If you are a fan of video game soccer, you will enjoy playing this game.Read full review
Great game it has all up to date roster, except they went to far in lowering many players stats, such as Ronaldo has an overall of 83 not good. Up to date squad places such as Juventus is now in the Italian Second Division instead of the first because lets just put it that they did some bad things with the referees. NEW MANAGER CAREER MODE, same as PS2 mode and it also lets you hook up your PSP to your PS2 like all the new EA games they have. THEY HAVE THE SAME THING AS NBA LIVE 07 WITH NEW MEDIA CENTER LETS YOU ADD YOUR OWN MP3 SONGS TO THE GAME. Online is still weak and they still need to fix the problem they have of people disconnecting and getting a loss for no reason. Overall a great game and is a lot of fun would recommend buying, its worth the $40.
Overll this game is great. I believe it is the last great Fifa game due to the fact that 08 you can only control with analog stick only! That is my complaint. I don't think we will get better graphics until a new PSP comes out with HD games. So that's my two pieces.
The graphics are great with this game. Its as if you are dealing with the real people. Nice improvement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the price was the deciding factor, I had checked several other stores, including on line, and this was the cheapest I had found.
