I’ve finally got my copy of KOF Orochi Saga in the Mail which I’ve Pre-Ordered from an Ebay store since Oct 4th. here’s my report: There is alot more good than bad this time. Nothing is really a deal breaker but I wish SNK would have www.terminalreality.com actually test the games better. Pros: KOF 94-98! Unlockable Classic Artwork and Soundtracks. (Original and Arranged) Plays great! No weird tileing or slowdown like the PS2 SNK Arcade Classics Vol.1 had. Cons: Damn weird half assed blurr filter on all the games. No option to shut it off. Loading screens in the game? WTF? The Japanese version didnt have this! Weird sound glitches! Glitches in detail. So far the big one is KOF98(nice one terminal!) When every round starts about 95% of the time the Announcer goes READY GO --"INNAH" or READY GO --"EADY" WTH is that?! Its not a deal breaker but it sure is weird! Now on KOF 96 I only got a glitch once. Female Team Stage at the end of the match it didnt switch to the quote music it just kept on playing the Female Team stage. Tried repeatedly but only happened once out of 10 or so times. So far no issues with 94,95,97. Overall I’m pleased that the gameplay is still intact as well as the extra content such as artwork and soundtracks but the sound Issues are kinda weird. My only gripe aside from the sound problems is the inability to play a game with the option to switch from original to arranged soundtracks. The PSP Version Also leaves more to be Desired. -DavidRead full review
A game that has great move sets with a very challenging difficulty level. The boss battles will seriously make you sit at the edge of your seat. The sound effects are the most iconic in classic arcade style fighting games. The roster is fulfilling with SNK characters. You get five classic games in the collection and I assure that none are disappointing. The running feature has always been my favorite from this series that just hasn't been perfected by any other fighting game. Expect to spend hours of gameplay from what I am calling the best collection of fighting games among compilation releases.

Anyone who considers themselves a fan of fighting games owes it to themselves to at least try to play a King of Fighters game. This PS2 collection is probably the best way for someone to play the first few entries in the franchise because there aren't many arcades around these days and getting the original games on Neo Geo can run a very, very steep price. The Orochi saga has five games on it - King of Fighters '94 through '98. The best of which is '96 by a long shot, but most of them are well worth your time as well. The only major problem I had with this collection is an odd glitch with King of Fighters '97 where the music won't play. Apparently this isn't a problem with my disc either, but a glitch with every copy of the game. It's unfortunate because the soundtracks to each game were extremely good, '97 included. But overall, this is a great collection for fighting game fans given the quality of the games and the fact that it costs a lot less than the original games. The price of a Neo Geo, two controllers and all five games included could set you back hundreds whereas you could snag this for ten to twenty bucks. I'd say it's worth it.Read full review
The biggest problem when it comes to this collection is that the CPU A.I is insanely and atrociously cheap. This is also the problem when it comes to other SNK games. However, for those of you who owns a cheat enhancers like gameshark or codebreaker, use the codes for unlimited health and supers because that makes the game “even” since the A.I button reads . The final boss especially in KOF 94 will make you crazy. Even at Level 1 difficulty, the CPU opponents will beat you up senselessly. However if you’re just a collector and could care less about the gameplay and the storylines, then feel free to grab a copy of this collection.
