Played every single level of this game. Wrote all the codes down... that was on the Sega Mega Drive about 20 years ago. I loved the game then and figured as I was older now I fancied a challenge but kept putting the purchase of this game off because "I have finished it once" and wasn't visualizing the game changing much. After all, lemmings are green and blue, they follow each other and that's basically it. Imagined it might be cuter playing on the PSP so I bought it, loaded it and from that second onwards I was back in my teens. addicted to the game play. Not because of the nostalgia but because of the cutesy graphics and the way certain aspects were improved upon. Very challenging almost immediately. Easy to control and fun to play.
I purchased Lemmings a few weeks ago having fond memories of playing the PC games years ago... And on this single aspect the game succeeds. Lemmings PSP is essentially the same incarnantion of Lemmings we have seen several times before, albeit with a few extras thrown in: ie: you have the ability to create your own levels through which to guide these little fellows to safety. There is a limited wireless feature I found for the most part useless, but then again, it was the core game I was after, and in this the game succeeds. If you're after a portable version of the game we've all played before then go for it, the graphics are well done and suit the widescreen PSP well, and the controls do the job, with similar room for improvement. There's nothing really new and catchy here, just a portable version of the game. 6/10Read full review
I bought this for a gift for my older brother (19 years old). He has not put the thing down since I gave it to him nearly 2 months ago! It's the classic lemmings game made a bit more difficult with lots more levels to keep busy. You can even make your own levels. I haven't got the chance to play, yet, but I get to watch and my brother has a blast with it. Would definately recommend as a gift for any gamer.
I played this on Super Nintendo years ago. I like it just as much now as I did then. If you like puzzles you'll like this game. The animation is pretty amusing also. The lemmings are dumb as little rocks so you have to care for them well. However, they have alot of capabilities so put 'em to work and see what they can do.
Lemmings are small, arctic rodents that are famous primarily because they have a tendency to commit mass suicide. (Well, actually, they don't.) Ever since this "tendency" was first turned into a video game in 1991, Lemmings have been a leader among puzzle games. With a little help from Team17, the Lemmings have now marched their way onto the PSP, and the latest edition of the puzzling standard proves that some things never change.
