Air out the tights, slip on the mask, don the cape, and prepare to flex some muscles in Marvel Ultimate Alliance, an action role-playing game featuring the largest cast of costumed crusaders and mutant messiahs in a video game to date. Twenty Marvel superheroes have joined forces to combat the diabolical Dr. Doom and his Masters of Evil. The action will take players to Atlantis, the Skrull home world, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Heli-Carrier, and more as they guide a four-person party through 17 comic book-inspired locales. Moves include a flurry of air and ground strikes, from grapples and blocks to chargeable powers and deadly combos. Objects within the environment can also cause damage, and a choice of one- and two-handed weapons can help less extraordinary heroes mete out justice against throngs of enemies. Both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions add a number of visual enhancements to the action, including dynamic lighting effects, articulated body parts, and more.

As players decide on which heroes to enlist in their super group, including such iconic characters as Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Thing, Captain America, Elektra, and Thor, they can customize their team's name, icon, and vehicle. The party's reputation will increase over time through heroic deeds and by successfully completing mission objectives, allowing players the opportunity to further enhance the team's or a specific character's attributes. The cast includes more than 140 comic book characters in total, many of which are available in the single-player storyline and can be unlocked for multiplayer action. The latter supports both cooperative and competitive battles, with in-game statistics tracked for each team as players earn experience points and receive powerful new equipment. Marvel Ultimate Alliance also features unlockable bonus content, such as alternate costumes that modify a character's base statistics in the areas of defense, melee damage, and so forth. The Gold Edition comes packaged with a remastered version of the game and the Hero and Villain packs that are also available on Xbox Live!

In this superhero-filled action-RPG, players assume the roles of more than 20 Marvel Super Heroes including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade and Captain America, and through their actions determine the fate of both planet Earth and the Marvel universe. The game features total team customization, where players create their own team name, icon and vehicle, as well as establish their team reputation as they play throughout the story. Battle the world’s most notorious Marvel Super Villains in the air, underwater, and on the ground, using grappling, blocking and dodging moves, and even environmental objects as one and two-handed weapons. By Far The Best Comic Book Game To Date!
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance: Gold Edition includes 8 extra playable heroes and villains for the Xbox 360: Cyclops, Dr. Doom, Hawkeye, Hulk, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Sabretooth and Venom. It is currently available in the U.S. and Canada. It is currently unknown if it will be released in other areas of the world, such as Europe and Asia. Even if you have already mastered the original Ultimate Alliance, the Gold Edition will make you relive the experience with more entertainment. If you still own the original Marvel Ultimate Alliance. You can download the extra 8 characters from xbox live using your gamer points earned by unlocking achievements.

MARVEL ULITMATE ALLLANCE GOLD EDITON X-BOX 360 What do I love about the game - The game is very cool you can be a lot of super heros like my farviote 2 is spider-man and deadpool but it also has a bunch of others to unlock like cyclops and hulk and you get to fight classic bad guys from the comix books like Dr.Doom, Loki, and bulleseye its a great game for all super hero fans!!! Why did I buy this - Well I like the gold editon better because you get the extra charcters but on the regular one you do not get them but you will have more fun if you have a x-box 360 and get the gold editon verson the graphics are cool and the bad guys are tough!!! What I hate or don't like abouut the game - Some of the levels take too long to beat and on one mission you have to kill one of your teams for ghost rider to live but what makes me so mad at the game you can only save one hero between nightcrawler or jean gray you can not save them both which is a load of Bull**** THANKS HOPE THIS HELPS OTHER BUYERS THINKING ABOUT GETTING THIS GAMERead full review

Marvel: Ultiamte Alliance Gold Edition
An X360 game with all of the DLC included on-disc, this game is the one to buy if you're looking for an arcade-style beat 'em-up like the Final Fights of yore. A plethora of superheroes rounds out the replayability along with a fairly long an well-scripted plotline involving Dr. Doom slaying the world yet again. The only real complaint I have is that multiple people can't play online via X-Box Live without having their own disc, X360 and TV. I tried playing with my brother and his family (all whom have their own accounts) and it wouldn't work which is ridiculous considering four people can be on one screen if playing offline. Other than that multiplayer hiccough, the game is a solid buy. If you compare it to the regular Marvel: Ultimate Alliance game, you get four hero characters and four villain characters along with a few more achievements (250 gamerscore) and some costumes with special abilities.Read full review

Fun, multiplayer, replay value is high, cool moves ++++
When it comes to 360 games, this is a very solid buy in my opinion. There's excellent story with many favorite marvel heroes and villains, not to mention a few extra's with the gold edition. Many characters to play as each with their own large arsenal of moves and abilities, plus 4 costumes for each so you can dress them to your favorite outfit or your favorite bonuses those costumes give you (better idea). With many collectables, party combinations, different enemies to fight plus fantastic cgi movies which really show off how impressive the 360 is, there's not much to not love about this game. What makes it more outstanding? How about the ability to sign on xbox live and play with up to 3 more players in either a cooperative or arcade style mode of play, arcade being more competitive but gives the top 3 players bonus experience and money, which no one can complain about (unless you're in 4th, but that just shows you need to step up your game ;) Great buy, especially if you've got siblings/children or just looking for a fun beat'em up game with fun characters and story (not to mention you can play 4 player on 1 system, makes everyone happy when they can all play and no one's stuck watching).
