I have been actually pleasantly surprised but it took a while for me to feel that way. The Dynasty mode is a lot of fun as you're the coach of a team and you recruit players, play a full season and get to track your progress in the rankings, deal with injuries, etc. Also, you can edit the rosters to insert the names of the players or even adjust their ratings. Further, there are a lot of features such as challenging calls, changing your depth chart, substituting players, etc. While this game is better on the PlayStation, it can be a really fun game once you learn more about its features and capabilities and aren't disappointed just because of the graphics.
Although, the stadiums are not totally authentic (ie Notre Dame) I am really enjoying this game. I think it is great that you can choose either BCS or FCS teams. You can either make it easy (limited control) or hard (total control). Has every great fight song as well. The Item I bought was brand new, so I can not speak for used games, but it works well. A must have for any Wii owner that loves college football.
This is Wii's first NCAA Football and it shows that Wii is headed in the right direction but not quite there yet. The graphics are fantastic and the options are great but this version does not offer all of the dynasty mode characteristics that can be found with older X-Box/X-Box 360 and Play Station 2/3 versions. Still, all in all, a good buy and game. Hopefully, Wii will expand there dynasty mode options with there upcoming 2010 version.
I saw several negative reviews about this game and was a little worried since it is the only NCAA football game EA Sports has come out with for the Wii. However, it is actually not bad. Sure it is lacking the great graphics, but most Wii games are. The gameplay seems pretty decent as well. I am by no means a seasoned video game player so I may be setting the bar a little low. However, it is a fun game to play by yourself or against friends.
I never write reviews because, as someone wrote in a review of MLB 2K9, they are typically feedback for or about the seller. Bought the game last week, played it over the weekend and here's my summery: If you are a college football purest, DO NOT waste your money. I haven't gotten too deeply into dynasty mode, but then again I wasn't impressed enough to even try. There is VERY limited roster editing capabilities (player info, ratings, height/weight). For anyone who's played the game on the playstation 2, as I have, you know that you can put in your own school and/or players. Can't do that here. The graphics are good, but VERY cartoony. There is no "Campus Legend" or "Race for the Heisman" alternate game mode either. I am fully intent on purchasing NCAA Football 10 for PS2 when it comes out later this summer due to 1) my lack of impress with this game and 2) the fact the EA Sports didn't release that game on Wii. I may reconsider if EA comes out with the 2011 game and fixes these problems. This is a good game for young kids who want to play football, but for those of us that are college football purests...it's a waste of money.Read full review
