Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords isn't for everyone. If you enjoy Bejeweled and RPG's, check this game out. Although I haven't gone through the whole entire game yet, I can make a solid review that this game has a bunch of problems, but is still an enjoyable game. I'll start with its problems; 1. The cursor to select the Gems can get a bit touchy causing many unwanted 'illegal moves'. There were times when I was about to defeat my opponent and because the cursor jumped to another Gem while selecting it, caused the round to end in my defeat...grrr! 2. The story is all over the place! The main quest doesn't stand out from the small side quests throughout the game. 3. I won't complain about the graphics too much, but even on my 42" High Def. TV, the text within the game is hard to read. That could've been an easy fix. 4. The least important negativity about this game is the musical tracks. While all of them are really nice to the ears, they become repetitive and boring. There are 2-3 tracks that actually cut off and don't seem right. After about 30 minutes in playing this game, all tracks within the game would have cycled atleast once. This is a great game to listen to your own music while playing. Graphics - 4/10 (Many of the still frames that you see within the Main Story are neat to look at. Animations on the main map of your character and the enemies are horrible. The Gems on the puzzles are clear) Gameplay - 6/10 (Watch out for the cursor (on the puzzle screen when selecting Gems to play, shops, taverns, etc. Otherwise, it would have been a 10! Music/Sound - 4/10 (Music is good (when it doesn't cut off and go into the next track) and ultra repetitive. Have the TV remote close by, in the event that it drives you crazy. It is fitting though. Sound effects reminded me of the 8-bit, 16-bit sounds from N.E.S. and S.N.E.S. days...not entirely bad, even on the Wii!) Replay Value - 9/10 (It's biggest strength! The RPG elements add so much to this game! Levelling up and buying/selling weapons, equipping/using spells and the usage of items to defeat the many enemies is just pure fun. Overlook the story and the, often times, frustrating cursor, and this is a "Gem of a Game" OVERALL 6.5/10Read full review
If you like RPG games without the hard start up this is the game you are going to love. If you like MSN games like Bejeweled this game will take you to a completely different level. I not thrilled with the graphics, but I would still give this a 9.5 out of 10. Just for the fact that I can enjoy the game and be with my family at the same time is a plus. Must have!!! I have played this game for two days straight and have not even held the joystick. I let everyone else do the work it is that addicting. I just try and find the best move for everyone. Enjoy
Not very interesting game play.

I think this game is addicting if you like to play jewels. Yes, the graphics are 2 dimensional but the puzzles are basically non-repeating (except for the ones you need to play to capture enemies)so never boring. It does teach you to think about the moves you make to set up your capture of mana jewels or skulls to kill opponents without getting yourself zapped, but these skills can translate to other strategy games, can they not?
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for Wii is such a fun interactive game the whole family can play. We all have our own characters, even my 6 years old. The art of matching colors and gems is not lost on even the youngest member of the family. If there were a negative, the Wii is a very sensitive joystick and if you miss slightly, you loose a turn and some life. However, it sure helps with focus and dexterity. Great game and fun to play.
