A sturdy handle makes up one side of the food processor, which makes it easy to hold during your salad making. With the ability to cut through both soft and hard foods, the powerful motor of the Presto Professional SaladShooter makes this a handy tool.Cut lettuce into manageable pieces by using one of the four funnels that slides right into the side of the salad shooter. Choose among the slicer, shredder, chopper, and blender funnels. These are interchangeable on the electric appliance, and they stack neatly for storage. This slicer/shredder appliance is wired with a polarized plug for your kitchen electrical outlets. That means that as a safety feature, one blade of the plug is wider than the other.This device is also useful for preparing soups, cheese, pizza, tacos, potatoes, nuts, and desserts. You can even use it to slice bread. Each shredding cone slides into the electric Presto professional unit with a locking ring that holds the assembly firmly together. You'll find the on/off button on the handle, which makes it easy to activate the unit when you're ready.The sturdy construction of the SaladShooter gives you maximum control when using it because the plastic is formed into one continuous piece with few seams as connection points. Easier and better food with Salad Shooter!
I have worn out 2 of these in the last 30 years. I have canned and frozen many things that I could do so much faster and easier with the Salad Shooter! My family loves hash brown potates and it is so easy with this machine! I make a cucumber salad that I double for funerals dinners and it goes so fast with this machine and they don't have leftovers because the vegetables are nic and uniform and flavors go through it bettr. So, if you like to cook and/or freeze fruits and vegetables this will make your life much easier!

Insecured food chute
The salad shooter does the job of shredding and slicing the vegetables. However, the food chute does not stay in place when one tries to push the vegetable (like potatoes, carrots etc.) down during the shredding/slicing operation. There is no mechanism in the design to hold and secure the food chute properly in place, resulting it may flip to the left or right side. One may consider the use of a ribbon tie to hold the chute in place with the motor base.

My favorite electric kitchen appliance for many years
Your advertising is off. I use it for almost everything but salad. I use it for cheesy bread, pizza, tacos, carrot cake etc. Get the men's attention. They see salad on the box and they walk away. Show pics of stuff guys like to catch their attention so they might buy it as a gift. If this helps I would appreciate a fine shredder attachment that used to be included. It's good for nuts and stuff. This is my third. I was excited to find it online.

The Presto Salad Shooter plus is a handy device in the kitchen, especially for the holidays. There are several cones for it from fine grating/shredding to slicing. Much faster than manually chopping, slicing, grating, etc. and clean up is fast and easy. I started with a simple salad shooter which was great, but this one is so much faster and better. Makes all those special salads, desserts and side dishes a breeze for the holidays; however, I find uses for mine all year through. Once you have used one, you will wonder why you did not get one sooner!
