Just got this one. I had a UE boom (1st gen) before and it only lasted me 2 years so I had to try another one but was out of that big budget so I purchased this Sport XL. The packaging is good and the item is solid. Here are my thoughts when I tried it: -BT4.1 is really fast and sweet when connecting. But when I have to pair another device, it sads me that I have to disconnect one first. My UE Boom allows me to connect several devices without the need the disconnect (though of course, playback is one at a time) -The bass radiator at the back really vibrates. This may be a pro or a con to anyone, but for me, this can be annoying when you're trying to carry it handheld. -Haven't tried putting it in water, but so far the build quality is great. Though this is built to be a rugged speaker, I think I still need a case to keep its silky pristine look. But that's just me. -dust stuck in the speaker grille can be hard to remove. -buttons are easier to press and the feedback is great. My old UE boom has hard buttons -battery level indicator should actually be on all the time. having to press a button to let me check the level is somewhat annoying because it interrupts my music when I press any button -SOUND QUALITY: not for audiophiles, I guarantee you, though it doesn't necessarily mean that the sound is bad. The sound is good, with instruments wide-sounding as possible for this small speaker. The vocals really soar and are stellar for this speaker. The bass doesn't muddy the rest of the tonal range and knows how to keep its distance. The bass has its good kick but it's not that strong enough (which is pretty reasonable). The highs are the weaker areas of the sound because they're not that crisp and pleasing. Overall Anker still did a good job here. But if you're an audiophile, my old 1st gen UE Boom sounded way better, like you'd really love it. -VOLUME: This is good for a group of 4-6 persons listening. Good for a small-to-average room. Slightly weak when outdoors. I'm honestly a bit disappointed because my old UE boom has only one driver with lower watts but is apparently louder than this new speaker. DO I RECOMMEND: yes!Read full review

I saw this speaker on YouTube and needed a new Bluetooth speaker and the fact that it also charges my phone and is waterproof too, perfect. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a tough speaker on the go. Great speaker!!!
