Not recommended for window mounting customized vans with fiberglass top.
Tried everything with this product. Needed to use as window mount on a custom van. Assembled antenna as required in directions and from website. Used their complete kit except for mount which could not work on a side glass window. Once assembled and run to radio matching antenna was impossible even with adjustment for a useable antenna match. The SWR was in red even on channel 19. This would have resulted in burning finals out in radio. I cannot recommend this antenna for a no ground situation. The antenna as well is too long in the 4 ft. size for a glass mount as well. This is a very heavy duty antenna and may work in semi-truck mirror mount. Forced to replace antenna with a fender mount magnetic antenna for proper use a low SWR. My meter used is a MFJ Grandmaster SWR/Watt ... Tried everything with this product. Best jeep antenna
After messing with several antennas and trying to tune properly for the best range a friend turned me on to this "no ground plane" antenna. Ordered it, hooked it up and immediately noticed the difference. Transmitting range and receive was incredible. Thank for your research and a great product!
