I thought this would be like one of those battery driven tools you get, where the only thing it's good at cutting is skin. But this actually works well. I don't have any problems with it being a refurb, especially since I paid something like half of what it actually cost. And it's not like I'm going to be using it 24 hours a day. But I played with it the day I got it, and it's a great small saw. Oh, and I bought the three extra blades from wal mart for something like 20 bucks. But then? My brother borrowed it, so I'm guessing I'm going to be buying another soon. He usually only returns something when it stops working . . . so I'll let you know how it does.

The saw never worked from the time the box was opened so I thought that I would just be able to get it replaced. Well that’s not the way it works! Even though reconditioned I would have expected it to work once maybe twice but not at all I find unacceptable. When I contacted CPO about the fact that it never worked and that I wanted it replaced, they informed me that I would have to send it back to the factory to be fixed under the warranty. I will be wary in the future.

I'm all for refurbished items - doesn't make any difference if it's tools or electronics. I must get more for less in order to stay within an already stretched thin budget. Why? It doesn't matter if it's brand new or refurbished - most folks buy "used" why not get one exactly like it only refurbished? Save money! It's going to last just as long as a store bought - brand new one. I wasn't familiar with electric saws - I needed easy to hold onto, sharp, a real work horse. What I hadn't thought about - I'm left handed - I look to the right when I do things whether sewing, firing a gun (ex-military) with the exception of a computer - it's user friendly. I do not recommend this saw for a left handed person unless they are adept at viewing a project from the left side - not safe at all! Now if I were right handed that's a different story - my friend does home make overs & this particular saw is his work horse. I didn't think to ask him his prominent hand - I should of, at my age, have learned long ago it's a right handed world out there. Read full review

Small, relatively light weight saw has decent amount of power. I had bad luck with a similar Black and Decker cordless saw so got a corded one (Batteries were always drained). I am very happy with it. It is nice to have a smaller saw to use overhead. Be aware 3/4 is the thickest this will cut. Other than that, it is a great saw. As far as price, we got it slightly used on Ebay around 50, so we were happy. Saw and brand new blade was a great deal at that price.

Great tool to cut drywall sheets, small lumber and trim. Allows one to set the depth and cut precisely too. Flush blade option is nice. Definitely a great deal for the price.
