I've had this laptop since 2015ish. It came into the IT store I was working at and the owner gave it to me and bought a new machine. For the past 2 years, I've worked as a Biologist and I'm constantly in the field, and I was going to school for the 3 years prior to that. I have replaced the screen on this laptop twice (from breaking it) and now keep the clear touch display off of it (easier to view) and just the LCD. I 3d printed a cover (used electrical tape for 2 years) for the edges where the touch display protected. I have had multiple solid-state drives in it, and now I'm using a 1TB. I have a killer desktop PC, and a super-powerful laptop for GIS work, but this laptop is so great for the field and travel. The aluminium body makes it near indestructible. I've had all the body screws off of it for roughly 4 years and it still holds together, and is easy to take down. I love this laptop and will keep it alive until the new Windows OS won't work with it.Read full review

I got this unit for my granddaughter (her first laptop/tablet) and thought I would blow her mind. Since the unit came with more than ample memory, the slow down on the unit (and to me slow booting) was the hard drive that was in the unit. This is true of most run of the mill laptop/tablets. After getting the unit configured and updated running Windows 8.1, I upgraded the OS to Windows 10. I then cloned the unit to a new 250GB SanDisk SSD Plus drive, and man does that make a difference. You would think you just got the world's fastest 2-in-1. What use to be a couple of minutes boot time to 15 seconds. Unit should hold that speed since I did set the system to run the SanDisk TRIM program once a week. To give her a chance to mess the unit up and still get back to the state I will be giving it to her, I obtained AOMEI Backupper Standard (the free version) backup software and installed that. The software is absolutely simple to use, and has several backup options: System Backup for the system drive, partition backup if wanted, data drive backup (all partitions on a disk, etc.). The only thing I have found is that you can not clone a drive using the Standard version which is free. You need the AOMEI Backupper Professional version ($40 for two licenses). That is what I used to clone the HD in the unit to the SSD drive (it has the ability to align data properly on the SSD). So if you can find a reasonably priced unit on Ebay or elsewhere, I highly recommend this unit when upgraded to Windows 10 64bit Home, and putting in an SSD drive to make the thing really zoom, zoom!Read full review

I upgraded to this from a surface pro and i must say the extra power this thing kicks out in comparison is phenomenal. I didn't expect much, but it delivered. The resolution is fairly low though, the surface pro tops it there, but otherwise this is superior in power output. Keyboard feels more like a real one to me, it feels comfortable. Touch pad is wonderful. For those having issues it comes with a program that allows you to preform gestures that might throw you off if you're not familiar with them. These can be disabled, but i found them to improve the experience by far once i learned of them. Excellent product so far. I've only had it for a few weeks so o can't speak on durability and longevity

This is a wonderful laptop! The 13.3 inch screen is large enough for viewing and small enough to carry around. And being able to open 360 degrees, can use like a tablet. Came with 4GB ram now has 12GB and a 1TB hard drive. I am very pleased with this Asus Convertible 13.3" laptop.
