In real work applications, the screen is too small. The 32g is the 'c' drive so you are limited to what you can put on it when used as a tablet. The hard drive is built into the base, so if you don't have the base, you don't have whatever you put on the hard drive. The bases can be interchanged with the 64g version if the 64g version doesn't include the 500g hard drive base. The bases are slightly different between the ones that come with hard drives and those without. The hard drive is your standard SATA 2.5" drive and will accommodate any off the shelf SATA hard drive. Remove the two back feet, and the surrounding screws and the drive is right there. Battery life without the base is slightly higher as the hard drive uses a motor. If you install an SSD, battery life is about the same as if you didn't have the base. No motor to power down the battery. All in all the unit is fine for trips where space may be a problem. I'd use a stylus with this one. Due to the screen size, it's a bit hard to select menu items. For what it's worth, the new processor is very fast compared to other models in it's class.Read full review
I wanted to pick up a replacement for my aging netbook, so I wanted something with a keyboard. I'd seen mostly good reviews for the Asus T-100, and with the updated version coming out, I'd get a good deal. Had no trouble updating this to 8.1, Office 2013 works withno hiccups. Haven't runn the battery down to nothing, but have used it for 7 hours browsing the net and watchhing to occasional video and still had some juice left. Keyboar's a bit cramped, but this is to be expected.

As a tablet, its great! As a laptop, its worthless!! If you could dual boot or at least put the OS on the 500GB HD on the keyboard, this ASUS T100TA would be superb.
