This show is all about the entertainment business and how competitive the recording labels are. The characters are outstanding, and the show is filled with genuine talent. The soundtrack is great. All that said well then comes Cookie Lyon. She is absolutely out of her mind and extremely street smart. You will love her. Every word that comes out of her mouth is worth watching just for that alone. Her ex husband Lucious Lyon is like Victor Newman on steroids. The whole Lyon family is very talented. Just watch the show and you will end up watching all of season one in a weekend. Then you will be bummed when you have to wait a week for another episode in season 2. Highly recommended!!!

When I saw the pilot of this show at a VIP Party in Philadelphia in December 2014, I knew it was going to be a hit! With all of it's saucy dialogue and subject matters...it started off 'pushing the envelope' and taking us on a joyride of WHAT's NEXT??? The cast is a combination of familiar faces and Who's thats?! But each character is memorable in their own right. And sure to be returning, with surprise guests in tow, for a follow-up in Season 2.

The cast is phenomenal and everyone plays their role exceptionally well. I love how this drama isn't like anything else on TV. I like the history and depth behind the characters and how quickly we get to know that history. I'm glad someone finally made a show like this, even though it's fictitious it deals with real struggles that not everyone has been exposed to. This show is awesome. I really like it a lot, the plot and music is good.
My husband and I enjoyed season one of empire. The show had enough drama to keep you engaged. I can't wait for season two to come out on DVD so I can continue watching the show.
