Being a world player I have seen everything out there. Every brand has it qualities but this is the greatest deal. Strings, horns, percussion. All it takes is talent and hard work. The greatest thing it has though, is the company selling it, "bidtradellc". They are one of the best Ebay sellers I have had the pleasure to deal with and I really put them through it. This keyboard is sublime and has the most beautiful tones. The key action is perfect and it has a monstrous library of sounds as well as an onboard 6-channel digital recorder. Yamaha always did have the very best drum kits on the market (they make great drums too) and they are here at your disposal. Learning curve is steep but no different than most any other music gear today. Buy one now and you will never regret doing so. Thank you sincerely, "bidtradellc"..................kevinRead full review

Works good, has an excellent sound especially in the Grand Piano mode; is easy to set up and get started using. The only negative thing is that I wish I had done a little more research before purchasing because when using the earphones/amplification plug you cannot use the onboard speakers which would have been a plus to be able to keep them as monitors....also it will not record audio....all outside input must be MIDI only and it only records in MIDI which makes greater utilization not possible...not the fault of the equipment...just that I wasn't thorough enough in my research before I purchased it. All-in-all its well worth the investment. John

After our 61-key Yamaha PSR-E313's auto-accompany feature died, we thought we'd upgrade to a similar Yamaha keyboard with 76 keys. I use it to help write and record songs, while my girlfriend uses it for learning basic piano. I was hoping the settings (e.g., database, style and voice) would be the same numbers as our old model so I could play certain songs without learning new settings. But the YPG 235 has many more settings. I scrolled through them to try to find matching settings, but it was difficult. The YPG 235 seems to have less variance (especially voices) even though it has more to choose from, while some of the database settings don't sound any different from neighboring settings. And there seem to be way too few default voices (many are not a good fit) to go with the database settings), so I'm always scrolling through the voices to find a better fit. I'm also not very impressed with the volume, though the factory info brags about this model having double the wattage of the next lower model. Other than the above issues, the keyboard is a good value for the money. I think the Yamaha keyboards are more user friendly than Casio, but Casio has more volume.Read full review
Great portable keyboard. Sensitive touch keys which are real piano size keys. Yamaha has always had Quality. In my opinion. I’ve played all my life but I am older now and can not move a big heavy piano anymore so I went with this keyboard. After months of doing research and listening to YouTube videos on different electronic keyboards and hearing them play, This had the best grand piano sound. I did not want the electric sound. I wanted more of a realistic piano sound and didn’t want to put out $700.00 or more to buy a higher end keyboard. I decided on this one for the sound and the price. I’m very pleased with the grand piano -that’s the only feature I use. So I can not review the other features. I will be getting a pedal for it to sustain the notes. Looking forward to that. I’m also very pleased at the price I got it for. I got it off Ebay for 149.99 + 25.00 shipping and it came with the power cord (KEEP IN MIND-these don’t come with the power cord even if buying it new in the box, which is stupid in my opinion) I also got it with the stand - so remember to ask if your purchase comes with the power cord. I’m just a happy camper with my Yamaha Ypg-235 purchase. I play this a couple hours a day now. Good luck and play on...Peace out Read full review

This is a great keyboard that seems to be very popular with folks. I bought it for my grand daughter who has gotten to be very interested in the piano. She can play it like a piano and use the other keyboard features such as rhythm and styles. She really loves it. The keyboard itself responds very much like my piano. It has stereo speakers. A sturdy folding stand which make the whole thing portable. Sound is very realistic for different instruments and it even has a list of sound affects such as fireworks and thunder. Very satisfied with this keyboard.
