My third Cuisinart. Broke the pot on my last one a Cuisinart Plus just before the hot water feature stopped working. This pot brews quickly but unlike the Plus has no way to tell if the correct amount of water has been added. only a problem if you "share" coffee making. Leave the room before you've added the coffee and turned the pot on and the other person can't tell if you have added the water - or how much. Bought this model because it took up less space.

I had ordered one and somehow received two so put one away awaiting billing or instructions. Lucky for me, the first received lasted just about 1 month before the pump went out. It would just grind and grumble away with only have a pot brewed leaving the rest of the water sitting! The second one (my fortunate back-up) wouldn't brew the first morning I'd set the clock and programmed it to start at 6:15! Yes, I rechecked my am/pm settings and all was correct. So much for this model! Two for two is not good in my book.

The coffee result is very good. Once you become familiar with the machine, it is fairly easy to use. There seem to be some redundant steps to program automatic brewing. Perhaps with the next model, they may be reduced to two steps. The carafe is ergonomic and comfortable, even when full and has a removable, not hinged, lid. I like the non-disposable gold coffee filter and also the option to use a disposable cone paper filter. A disposable charcoal water filter (good for about 2 months,) is in the unit. I have a faucet water filter but it's an advantage for those who don't. It does brew quickly and quietly beeps 5 times when coffee is finished brewing. A friendly suggestion: read the booklet, it's helpful.

Nothing negative to say about this coffeemaker, it is quick, quiet and easy to use. It is also very handy to be able to program a specific time for it to be ready and no worries should you forget to shut it off, since it auto shuts off in 2-hours. I have not had to clean it yet, but that should be pretty easy as well, since it cleans with just a push of a button. I am very glad I purchased this coffeemaker and would recommend it to anyone looking for one.

After about 12 years of use, our Melita coffee maker, with built-in grinder, finally quit. Not wishing to grind beans any more, we looked for a unit with great ratings and which provided some basic settings options, since my wife and I enjoy our coffee at different strengths. This Cuisinart unit allows me to make my coffee quite strong and my wife to use a milder setting. It makes great coffee and with the hot plate setting on high, it keeps the coffee wonderfully hot. Another nice feature is that when it is time to clean the unit, a light comes on to let us know to do it. The pre-set timer is also a great asset, allowing me to prepare the coffee the night before and have it ready by the time I enter the kitchen in the morning. My only disappointment is with the lid to the carafe. It would be more convenient if it were hinged to the carafe instead of having to be taken completely out. That, however is a very minor point and should not dissuade anyone from purchasing this model. Frankly, I didn't spend time exploring other units, other than reading a few descriptions on the web. This seemed to be the best buy for the price, given my preferences. All in all, we are very happy with this machine. In fact, though it is approaching bed time, I find that I now must have a cup of coffee.Read full review
