I have several trail cams permanently installed for two years on my rural property. This Moultri M-880i Gen 2 is my latest addition. Given that I had a bad experience with a previous Moultri camera, I'm pleasantly surprised and satisfied with this one. However there is one trail cam reality which I feel needs highlighting given the sometimes misleading adverts ... i.e. battery usage. In my reality, with day & night photo shooting, the batteries last about two weeks with this cam. With a (relatively) high resolution and with night time shooting (with IR flash or whatever) and with the high number of photos (a few hundred per night) it is unreasonable to expect the batteries to last longer than 10-14 days. This cam is set up on my feed plot and records more than 3000 photos (most at night) per week. Manufacturer's claims of batteries lasting two months or whatever are completely meaningless because the batteries' usage depend entirely on number of photos, resolution of the photos and whether flash is required or not. I have other time-lapse cams that only shoot in daylight at much lower resolution which indeed last for two months (or longer). If you want the batteries to last longer in this cam ... set it up accordingly, i.e. low resolution and no night shots.Read full review

Cheap camera that seems to be built well. Got a few of them now. It has a pretty slow response, gets more rump pictures than good ones. The night shots are good, except pretty small area - similar to a narrow flashlight beam.

I have tried several other security cameras, from wired to IP cameras..all of them had problems..especially under low or almost no light. The Moultrie camera worked just as advertised. Stunningly bright and clear pictures/video...the options offered make it a great working security camera...only problem is the five second delay, which I haven't gotten around..but otherwise a great device at a good price.

I had a model 880 low glow model and the lens was so magnified that I had to move the camera further back. Still couldn't get wide enough to get what I wanted to video, a scrape near a cross trail. I liked the camera because of the sound, because when you can see and hear two bucks battle it out, it makes it even more exciting. The 880i 2nd Gen is very nice 720 video recorder, the lens is much wider view than my 880. The deer used to stare at the glowing red lights emanating from the tree 25 ft away from my old 880, but with the 880i 2nd Gen model they don't even look that way any more than other direction. But the sound issue, they show the speaker on the box but it doesn't have the capability. Maybe it was to cut costs or they may have had a problem of sorts, but none the less, no sound! But the wide angle lens and the truly invisible lights more than makes up for it, I guess. With all the pluses and minuses figured in I would highly recommend it none the less.Read full review

I purchased 2 of these units. This product far surpasses the competition! Excellent night photos as well as great daytime photos. Easily programmable with a digital display. Up to 32mb video card can be placed in it so you can take lots of photos. With my last trail cameras (Browning and Wildgame Innovations) I would get a lot of pictures of the animals backside because it took so long for the camera to activate and take a picture. Not with this one. Nice quick shots. Also the battery life is excellent - it will quickly pay for itself just by not having to put new batteries in every week. I am thinking about adding a couple more!
