If you want to use peripheral devices like a keyboard or mouse make sure you get 5-pin micro usb 2.0 adapter. There are other micro usb's that do not fit. I like the small 8" screen. I use the stylus a lot. Touch screen is pretty sensitive. It froze the first time I used it. Dell said to hold the on/off button for 15 seconds that release and hold for 3 seconds and it started right up and hasn't had that trouble again. Cut & paste is difficult (for me) probably will be easier with a mouse (when I get the correct adapter). Sound is sometimes not very loud but then I use earphones. Overall I like it mostly because of the size and it has Windows.

Im sure it was a great tablet for its time but time has marched on. It wont install a simple app. My mistake for being a novice cheapskate.

--- Important, remember to install all the latest Windows and Dell updates (there may be quite a few, I had over 50) for the tablet to work well/connect to wireless --- The Great: 1. Even though Windows 8.1 is awkward, it's awesome having a full operating system. You can load your full version favorite programs, and have control over the operating system. 2. The HD display is great. 3. It's well built. The Good: 1. The battery life is very good, and charges quickly. 2. This is a good substitute for a clumsy, or older laptop. 3. It comes with Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013, and they are full versions. But you'll need a stylus, and preferably a Bluetooth keyboard, because working Word/Excel with touch is very frustrating on an 8-inch screen. The Just Ok: Like with many tablets, the storage space is a bit small, so you'll need to buy an extra storage card. After installing Microsoft Office, Bitdefender, Firefox, Chrome and some other fairly large programs, it's almost out of space. I may uninstall the Office products that I don't use (OneNote, PowerPoint) to make more room... The Bad: Internet Explorer stinks on touch, so you'll want to download Chrome or Firefox (both work well). 2. There is no USB port, just one mini-USB used for transferring data and charging. So to transfer data, you'll need to buy an standard size USB adapter. The Very Bad: You need to push a bit hard/click the mini USB port into the tablet (which is ok). But it is possible to push the plug in upside down. If you do, you'll bend the connector pin inside the Dell and break your tablet. So be very careful!! Conclusion: Even with the mini USB issue, this tablet is great for the price. I like it so much that I wish I would have gotten a bigger screen.Read full review
Have had the device for about 6 weeks now. I'm more satisfied as I become more familiar with the Windows 8 OS. I did have some initial technical issues which were difficult to determine. I wasn't sure if the problems were of my own making or not. Once I reached out to Dell support, the issues were identified and corrected to my satisfaction. This was purchased as refurbished and the issue ended up being a corrupt system file. The device itself works great and I'm very satisfied with the picture quality and the speed. The OS takes up half of the 32 gig, which seems like a lot, but I haven't had any capacity issues. Biggest issues are getting used to OS and the relative lack of apps. Particularly in my case would be apps for aviation charts.
Bought this unit as a replacement for my laptop as well as my kindle. It has filled those jobs without a hitch. This is not a "Tablet" but a full blown computer. I did get a wireless keyboard but never use it. Though this Dell fills my needs, it would not work well if you do a lot of word processing, otherwise it's an amazing little computer. Do get as much memory as you can because you'll need it.
