So I actually bought my first G-Shock watch in 1997 before starting in the army. That watch followed through 6 years of active duty and 2 tours abroad. It was perfect. So buying this watch was my tribute to G-Shock and getting back to a watch in know can go through hell and back, and tell the time under any condition. This watch is quite stylish and does not hold the same features as my first G-Shock which included features such as Compass which wasn't affected by magnetic fields and a light feature that ensured you not to lose your night vision, while using in the dark. This watch is more stylish. Has great features with the 26 pre-programmed time zones, that makes it easy for me, when traveling, to set the watch to the time zone I'm in. It looks great with the all-black finish, and suit the purpose of which is has been bought for. Day-to-day use, hiking and fishing. Great watch...Read full review

I really like the styling of the watch for sure. I really think that it could be more user friendly, for example setting the watch & navigating the menues. The light feature on the watch was disappointing... I really thought that it would of had an indigo light so that you would be able to read the digital screens on the watch. Aside from that its a very nice watch!

Can I get one for my son as well... I paid around 30 bucks for this watch and now I wear it more than my Rolex GMT Master II... The difference in price is extraordinarily vast.. but the G-Shock looks great and performs LOADS of other functions. My one complaint is that the analogue and digital watch readings are One minute different (off) but in this "Rush, Rush" world... what's one minute here and there!

These watches are tough and I need a tough watch. Not many fancy features. Illumination could have been much better. But once you learn how to modify it with glow paint on the hands and hour indicators it glows. I always put a nato strap on a watch when I can and the ga100-1a1 has adapters available on eBay to allow this. They also sell bullbars that are pretty cool. All in all a good tough watch, but it ain't no smartwatch...

I was looking for an atomic timekeeping watch, in the description, this is not. However, after I corrected the time, it's dead-on accurate. Fantastic. I really like that it's entirely black except for the hands, makes it super easy to read at a glance. I wouldn't buy this watch though UNLESS you either know that the User's Guide comes with it, or maybe you can find it online, because I couldn't do anything with this watch until I looked things up in the instructions. One great watch, buy it.
