Went from Blackberry to Samsung and now finally back to this Blackberry. Love the fact that it runs android, which made my life very easy when transferring my contents from my old Samsung S4 to this one. The phone is pretty fast, smooth and very easy to manage with Blackberry Hub, which gathers all your email, text, call, messenger, whatsapp and facebook notifications in one place. The sound is simply amazing, great bass and surround effect even while using bluetooth. The battery life is also very good. I use it a lot, keep getting too many calls and messages a day and it still manages to keep its charge for close to 2 days. The only minor con for me was the touch was not as smooth and sensitive as my Samsung, but it is not too bad. The keypad is a great plus for those with small fingers, but not as helpful if you have big fingers. Overall I would say it is a great buy and definitely worth it.Read full review

Not really all that great of a phone. The phone heats up constantly. The memory card slot , often fails. The phone can not charge, while you are using it. You have to let the phone charge, by not using it, at all. The SIM and Memory card slots, are difficult to access and prone to breaking. With voice calls, the person on the other end, can not hear your at first. It takes a second or two, for them to hear you. It is very difficult to add contacts. The options that are supposed to let you add contacts, don't work, in the way that they should. You can't automatically download files to the memory card. You have to change settings and download apps, in order to transfer the content from the phones Internal memory, to the SD Card. The Spell-Check doesn't work like it does on other phones. You will see all of the possible spellings on the keyboard, but you can't click them and have the word typed in. Plus, with this problem, you have to Back-Space, in order to correctly add the words that you really wanted. It has no removable battery. It has an extremely annoying Nanny-Like function, where it will keep changing your curse words and other spellings of words, into "SAFE" words. Also, the Mini-USB port is really susceptible to breaking. I bought this phone, because it has a Hard-Where keyboard, a lot of Internal memory, it is running the most current version of Android and it is still able to keep upgrading the OS, decent battery life, support for up to to 2 TB's of SD Card memory, large screen, ect. I know some of these issues are caused by Android, but this is actually Blackberry's version of the AndroidOS, so they could have customized it better. If you can buy it for around $150 to $200, then it could possibly be worth it to you. But not $700+. I really wanted to love this phone, but I dont see it lasting for anymore then a year. The Blackberry PRIV, is just a poorly designed phone. I could go on, but I imagine that you get the point. A somewhat decent phone, with A LOT of issues!Read full review

Finally went back to BB with a keyboard after having many without (with the last one being the Z10). This phone has the reliability and security of it being a BB, but with the capacity of running Android and getting to download all the fun apps...that unfortunately BB has been left out of most of the time. The size is a bit bigger than I'm used to, and the weight is a bit on the heavy side, but it feels like a very well made and solid phone. The battery takes a bit to charge (maybe I'm a bit on the impatient side?!). I bought the slide case to go with it, and everything works perfectly together. It's a very good looking phone, and received many compliments on it : ) I'm very happy with this purchase and will keep this phone for quite some time...cheers to BB to finally making a fully functional and integrated phone for all to use! Okay...I'm adding to my original review: I had to change it from 5 to 4 stars because of the charging. It's not me...it's super S-L-O-W!!! Seems like I have to have to leave it plugged in and charging when I'm not using it because it takes HOURS to charge!!!! Just giving you "all" a heads up...that part of the phone is disappointing : (Read full review

I would have to keep using this for a while to really have any insight. For now the things I'm getting used to: 1) the size is like a Galaxy note or something, a huge leap from my old Blackberry, I had to buy a new tool pouch just to fit it when I'm at work; 2) Android is pretty annoying, like Windows it always needs your attention for some notification or update, but I'm trying to take a more active role in raising my phones, I guess; 3) the one thing they really messed up in my mind is they half-assed the phys keyboard! Why does anybody buy a Blackberry? Obviously not for the OS in this case! But now when my fingers brush across the keys searching for the next letter because I'm trying to type one-handed, it moves the cursor around without my intention, and I've gotta go back to the touchscreen to re-position, and inserting the cursor right where you want it is tricky with this OS, like I guess you need to swipe the keyboard to finely position it, but I think the whole arrangement defeats the purpose, like I don't want the buttons to do anything unless I "click". Tragic. But what a steal, this was a $700 phone just a few months ago. Vendor was great. Read full review

This Blackberry is very unlike the user friendly Q10 as it is not compatible with the Blackberry desktop software used to back up phone contents. The calendar function does not store completed appointments resulting in no tracking history being stored, Battery life appears to decline at about 4-5% per hour and compared to the Q10 seems relatively slow to recharge. Although font sizes can be changed in the settings, the "desktop" screen fonts are still quite small. I admit that I haven't fine tuned the instrument yet and I'm hoping to reduce the power draw of the many pre-loaded apps. It will take a while to learn the Android ways... On the plus side - Blackberry Customer support is really exceptional.
