Good paddle for the price
I bought this as my first paddle to go with my first Kayak. While it is not as solid as a one piece composite paddle, (there is just a little play at the joint), it is strong, lightweight, and does the job well. I also like the multiple blade angle choices provided by 4 different holes for the latch button at the assembly point. I have used it to propel my Perception Sundance across miles of lake in both smooth and choppy conditions. If you're not looking for a whitewater paddle then this one is a great choice for price, weight, and convenience. I bought this as my first paddle to go with my first Kayak. Good for a 10ft under kayak and shorter kayaker. Works well. Rought aluminum edges where they connect. Coated rubber poles. 3 settings for connecting paddles. Aluminum is the heaviest style paddles. They dont seem heavy at first but after some time paddling, you can tell. But they are cheap on the wallet. Good back up paddle for me. It is a nice paddle for the price.
The blade and shaft are solid, but not too heavy. You might need to sand a little where the connection is to get them to separate easily, and/or replace the cheap plastic drip rings with good ones so they don't curl up. It is a nice paddle for the price.

GOOD PRODUCT BUT YOU'LL NEED TO LUBRICATE THE CONNECTION
THESE ARRIVED AND SEEM WELL MADE, BUT AFTER 1 SINGLE USE WE COULDN'T SEPARATE THE 2 SECTIONS....EVENTUALLY USING HELP FROM A SECOND PERSON AND SOAKING THE CONNECTION WITH WD-40 WE GOT IT TO SEPARATE. A STRONG SUGGESTION IS TO USE PETROLUM JELLY BEFORE CONNECTING AND COVER THE THAT JOINT's SEAM ALSO.
