As with all small LCD panels, the vertical viewing angle is almost non existent. I'm not sure where the cutoff is, but at least 19" and below from what I have seen & read. If you are close to the screen you can see the difference from the top to bottom edges when viewing straight on. The screen lightens up at the top & bottom edges. More farther away, and that goes away, but the angle is still there. I can see the difference less than five degrees plus or minus. The other problem is the audio. Not that television audio has been good at all in the past 70 or so years, but due to the lack of room and the pathetic audio amps used, audio will be poor. Connecting external speakers using an int. amp (or receiver) would help if you want to go thru the trouble and expense. For something this small, it probable isn't worth it. Have said that, here is my pros & cons: Pros; 1. Cost. For what is inside (I looked), it's still costly, but this is less than many others. 2. Low power consumption (7-8 watts AC) 3. DC operation away from AC (uses separate PS) 4. Decent picture quality other than the viewing angle (but see below) 5. External line level audio, coaxial digital audio (very unusual especially for this small screen size) and earphone outputs (but see below). 6. HDMI & shared component/composite video inputs. 7. Top mounted user control buttons (but see below). 8. One year parts & labor warranty, unlike all the others that are only three months (but see below). 9. Undocumented 'add channel' ability (see below) Cons; 1. Typical poor, out of the box picture settings (see below) 2. Typical very limited vertical viewing angle. 3. Typical poor audio (but much better than I expected based on numerous user reviews). Speakers are rear firing 7/8" x 2". 4. External PS (I prefer internal). 5. Apparently no QAM CATV capability, only analog (not confirmed). 6. Inputs & outputs hard to get at (not unusual), optional right angle adapters recommended 7. No USB media port (but at this price it shouldn't be expected). 8. No 'enter' button on top panel that is needed for input change. 9. Excessively bright red 'standby' light. (I cut a small piece of electrical tape and covered part of it) 10. Non- stand mostly worthless (unless you have a self that is near eye level if sitting at a table or desk. Comments; I tried using a small pair of bookshelf speakers with the earphone jack, but the set didn't have enough to drive them. Trying to change inputs using just the top mounted button didn't work, apparently due to the lack of a 'enter' button. If you are using this on a table, desk or shelf, consider making a tillable stand. I did out of five pieces of scrap wood that worked. The warranty fine print for this company and what appears to be most others required the owner to pay fro return shipping AND pre-pay (at the amount they want which is far more than it costs) for the shipping back to yourself. The panel is a one piece Innolux N156BGE-L41 with what appears to be an electroluminescent backlight. It is less than 1/8" thick. Video: The default settings are way too vivid, mostly due to the useless "dynamic contrast' setting being 'on'. Turn it off! Change the setting to user, color temperature to 'warm', reduce contrast to 40, increase brightness to 60, decrease sharpness to 30. Start there, tweak further for your preference. The higher the brightness & contrast are set, the more the video will 'clip' (typical for most TV's) Audio: Increase the bass to full, try changing from stereo to 'surround'. That may help. This clips if you run the volume up past 50 or so depending on the material you are listening to. Read full review

This is the second one we purchased and they work great ! Hard to find decent small TVs to use as HDMI extensions of our whole-house video distribution. We use with CAT6 to HDMI converters, and we use to have the transceivers burn out, but not since we switched from Coby to Pyle.
