First off, plan ahead like I did and get yourself another battery and wall dock charger. This thing sucks the juice even if you try and conserve by shutting off GPS, bluetooth, WiFi, etc. when not in use and tone down diplay settings and screen time out, etc. That way you always have a back up if your a heavy user. That being said, this phone is amazing and is the best out there(to my knowledge) for no contract folks. I had spent one full week looking up reviews on this and the HTC Evo v 4g(sprints evo 3D), the previous king of Virgin Mobile. Did a lot of comparing and contrasting. Looked at benchmark tests, crunched numbers. I played with a buddies Evo v 4g and it took alot to justify spending the extra $130 but the better camera, brighter display and louder speaker and double the storage (2GB instead of 1GB) I think are the main things that did it for me. And that was all before I even had it in my hand to start playing with! After I got it, I personally like Samsungs user interface compared to HTC's Sense interface. And thist thing is F-A-S-T, FAST!! The only thing I find bad about the phone is battery life but, when you have a phone this FAST it is going to suck down the juice. Aside from the phone Is the fact that with pre-paid no contract companies you have to by all phones outright. That is why I gave a 4/5 under "value for the money". All in all, if you get and extra battey (I suggest an OEM from ebay) you will be good to go and love this phone. P.S. If you have small hands or get a bulky case it may be too big for you. ;)Read full review
We bought this phone for my husband. It is his first smart phone, and he is not highly computer savvy. The fact that he uses the phone for messaging and checking the weather forecast indicates how simple it is to use. I also have a Galaxy S2, and love it. The only real complaint I have is the battery life, which is very short.

i purchased this phone a few weeks ago, and overall, this is a very great phone for all its features. i switched over from a HTC Evo 3D, and the only big issue i had was the android keyboard. the space bar is slightly smaller, and the phone doesnt know alot of commonly used words in context. other then that, the phones ease of access is amazing. the processor on the phone is very quick, and has wifi, 3g, and 4g capability for quick internet browsing. the camera is a 8.0mega in the back, and shoots some amazing pictures and even does zoomed in close ups with a very fine and precise focus capability. i was amazed at how fine my pictures came out. call clarity is everything, and this phone had a crystal clear sound output and same for the microphone. never had a dropped call or out of range signal. the thing i love the most is the ability to tell the phone what to do. as an example- "Hello Galaxy"-prompted the phone i was giving a command.-"navigate me to XXX Chesapeake ave"-the command i gave. the phone promptly responded with "navigating to XXX Chesapeake Ave, Towson MD" and started giving directions. over all, i will recommend Samsung galaxy phones to people who want a reliable phone that has the ability to do anything.Read full review
I really needed to upgrade and usually I prefer LG products but my kids talked me into this one. I like almost everything about it except that I haven't found a way to keep the wi-fi from turning itself on at the most random times and usually when my battery is dying. It's very easy to use and I am enjoying it!
This phone is snappy and responsive. The Virgin Mobile version is technically known as an "Epic 4G Touch". My primary issue with this phone is the Samsung bloatware that is paired with it by default. Battery life is impacted dramatically by the services running at startup with a factory install. Root and install a custom ROM (Carbon), and battery life isn't an issue. Virgin Mobile and Samsung both deliver a box of fail with their factory paired applications.
