The Sony a77ii is quite possibly the best all-around camera I've ever used, at least below ISO 800. After that, the noise difference between it and the a6000 shows even if it is just at pixel level. I would feel OK about going up to ISO 6400 shooting RAW and cleaning up the noise in post for photojournalism work, but I probably wouldn't shoot over ISO 3200 for other paid work. All of this said, the dynamic range and AF system of this camera are outstanding. Same for the in-body stability, which I have found to be better--along with the DR and AF--than my old a77. The EVF also seems better in that it doesn't lag like its predecessor did. The LCD has to be best-in-class, and certainly handier than my old Canon 60D. The camera handles great, had a nice/deep grip and it is very customizable. I use it mainly for sports, with some wildlife thrown in, and it is pretty much as close to a Canon 7Dii as you can get in A-mount. And by close, I mean really close. This is a professional's camera, but classified as semi-professional for pricing purposes. If you have A-mount glass, this is your all-around body.Read full review

I purchased the Sony A77ii, for the main reason that it is the same mount as my old Minolta 35mm Camera. I had several lenses that I had purchased for my Minolta Camera and wanted a camera that would allow me to use these lenses. I cannot tell you how the Sony compares to Nikon or Cannon, but I am happy with the quality and features so far. What I saved in being able use my older Sigma Lenses with the new camera, pretty much paid for my purchase. The mount and Auto Focus all work great with the Sony A Mount Body.

This is a great product with great features. With the upgraded sensor and greatly improved focusing capabilities this is one of the fastest cameras on the market at 12 fps. The quality of the images is excellent and the camera is very easy to use.

This camera is levels above the others in it's price range. Extremely versatile with controls placed where your fingers natural fall. If you use heaver lens say for birding and wildlife the A77 II is well balanced and easy to grip. I have used it with to shoot stills at skate board parks with a Sigma 70 mm. It focuses quickly and is a joy to use. The ISO and f stop buttons are well placed to customize exposure in evening lighting. I like the A mount as it is more robust than the Sony E mount.
