The unit wrks as you would expect. The label on mine was peeling off when it arrived. Imtested with a 1.3 ampere 13.8 volt load and performed well. I have not tested the limits of the 10 ampere but it is a smps with a fan so it should hold up ok. I lkke the voltage range, i do lots of of repair work so the ability to use a digital voltage control is very convenient. So far aside from the label, i recommend this if you need a variahle voltage bench supply. Even came with the alligator bananna connectors x 2. Is imported frlm China. If i get some time to open the unit and report back on the qualitye of components i will do that. 2 thumps up!!

Out of the box, looked good. Powered it up, turned the current setting to maximum, could not adjust voltage. Discovered that I could if the current was not at maximum - even if only slightly low. Tried to use it to charge a drained 12v car battery. Set at 9.9 amps/13.5 volts. Came back 24 hours later - unit had failed, had no output and would not recover. I'm returning it. It is a nice unit in appearance, is concise, since it is a switching supply rather than transformer/shunt. I'd say the quality control is marginal, at best, and doubt they bother to burn in the units or components, at this price. The mechanical and cosmetic design is OK or better. Electronically I suspect the design is OK as well. I suspect my unit was unusual, and most would be OK electronicly as well. Bear in mind I was operating it at maximum current in a 100 reg F. environment - electronically stressful, but within its specifications. Read full review

I bought this power supply to metal plate some very small items. I never really intend to use it to it's full potential. For the money it's ok. You get what you pay for. The leads are junk. Just for the heck of it, I cranked up the power and both leads got hot and started smoking. The alligator clips are barely crimped on. Both pulled off with very light pressure. I soldered them both back on. I still wouldn't use them for sustained 5+ amp current for any length of time. I also pulled the case and had a look inside. I fixed a couple of very sketchy looking cold solder joints. I'm sure I could have found more if I'd looked harder. At any rate..the thing worked as advertised when I took it out of the box. Is it a top quality, well built power supply where extreme attention to detail was part of the manufacturing process ? Hell no. You see what these cost right ? LOL. If you're not looking for something that's going to last a long time, and it isn't going to be life and death when it does finally let the smoke out, then this is fine. If you need something long term for a critical application that HAS to work when needed...well....maybe you shouldn't be looking in the $100 bin. :) You're getting what you pay for.Read full review

This power supply works well as long as you respect it's limitations. At turn on there is a voltage spike as the electronic come up to operation. That turn it on before you use it to power sensitive electronics. A little tinkering with the control circuits could probably fix that. When under load the fans is loud but that is an easy fix. This power supply for the money is good of good quality.

Does it work? Yes it works fine, Lab grade and high precision it isn't . The voltage / current settings are not very repeatable and it is awkward to adjust under load as it has a load dependent delay in the response time. The metering is not very bright and gets lost in a bright room. It does the job as long as one doesn't expect high performance or accuracy.
