This game is another great one in the Uncharted series but it was a major disappointment when it froze up in the later chapter and I couldn't get out of the Citadel. I had to use another copy to move on in the game. Very strange.

This one was bought as a gift, which is the only reason for getting the version with the online, co-op and multi-player extras. This review is based on having played the regular version without the extras. As in the previous Uncharted games, the story is an interesting mix of unrealistic fiction and a bit of history. There are plenty of 'bad guys' to shoot, as well as some odd creatures. All three games have a similar feel to them, but they are different enough to make them all worth playing. Other than a slightly annoying sequence where he's wandering around in the middle of nowhere, there isn't anything in particular that's bad about the game. I'd like more opportunities to plan a good strategy rather than being stuck in a relatively small area when a fight breaks out, but that's how it was in the first two games of the series as well. The most similar game series in my collection is Tomb Raider. Uncharted has more gunfights, Tomb Raider has a lot more gymnastics, and the TR puzzles can be a lot more difficult to figure out. Comparing the two, the biggest drawback to Uncharted is that the games take a lot less time to finish. The length of the game would be a lot more an issue if purchased at full price, but it's well worth the money now that it's in the discount rack. If you would end up buying the extras online anyway, you can get this entire package for a lot less than what they claim those features are worth. If you don't use those extras, the regular version of the game can be found at less than two-thirds the price, so one or the other should be a good deal for anyone.Read full review
