A Sega Genesis Classic, Xmen 2: Clone Wars has vastly improved gameplay and graphics from the first. Each character has their own moveset and abilities that favor them in any particular stage. The story is interesting and involves many characters from the comic book. The soundtrack is very good and the fact that each character has their own music effect in certain stages is good too. The game is challenging enough to be a formidable game to play but it is very fun to play too. One player games are better because the frame rate slows significantly in two player games. Also, 2 player simultaneous platforming isn't recommended. Overall this is a great game to get whether or not you are an xmen fan.

Nice game with some of your favourite mutants to play as (including Magneto). The game is a basic side scrolling action game with some difficult boss fights.

Graphics: Above Average - 4/5 Graphics stand out, and characters such as Magneto and Beast are well done. The added detail to the backdrops also gives this game a higher nod in the ratings. Gameplay: Above Average - 4/5 Game play was improved from the first game, allowing unlimited use of special powers. This game would have received a 5/5 if there was checkpoints. Controls: Average - 3/5 Still a platform jumping game that has plenty of well time jumps that miss. Frustrating. Sound: Above Average - 4/5 Good soundtrack for a 16-bit game, and had decent sound effects. Replay Value: Above Average - 4/5 The lack of checkpoints causes this game to loose its replay value for those who are not X-Men fans, but this game is another one that is still fun today. Overall: Grade B - 4/5 With larger characters and more detailed images, this sequel does not disappoint. You’ll have more fun with the wide range of rounds, and the larger selection of characters.Read full review
I remember renting this game in the 90s, then buying it later. Sold it, now got it again. It's definatly a must have for SEGA. this and the first X-men are better than super nintendo children of the atom in my opinion. You can use beast, magneto, psylocke, and the same character from the first x-men. It has great sound, graphics, stages, music, and bosses.
