I first heard of this game when it was released on the Turbo Grafx 16 back in the day but I didn't know that there were other versions such as this one on Gameboy. The graphics are good, but what makes the game really stand out is the control when you use Bonk to "bonk" enemies and flowers. The bosses aren't very difficult but the game wasn't long enough. The soundtrack is fair but I liked it best on the very first level (2 or 3 other levels have that same music). It's cool how Bonk can transform into different facial moods and really skewer the enemies. I'm still working on the NES and SNES versions of the Bonk series so no full review on those just yet...
Hands down the best version of Bonk ever. An unknown, underestimated game that set the bar high for adventure games. Although not as well known as games like Super Mario Brothers and Sonic the Hedgehog, this game I feel is a close third for me and should be more popular among gamers everywhere. I am surprised there hasn't been any recent remakes of this. Bonk is a unique character that is a lot of fun to play and has 3 different variations. His big head is his super power and he also has strong chompers that he uses to scale walls with. Whether your young or old, I think Bonk's Adventure on the Game Boy is worth a looksie.

As classic titles go, I like this one quite a bit. Simple enough to be fun for the less-than-hardcore gamer. The only down-side is that you'll have to plan on playing the game all the way through in one sitting -- this title precedes the advent of checkpoints. If you're into retro gaming, it's worth having.
This game plays almost like the Turbo game that it is based on. If you don't have the Turbo to play it on, this one will do in a pinch. It has good game play and is well worth the price. This is a great game that got limited press when it came out. Recommended!
