What isn't there to like about Resident Evil 4? From start to finish, this game will leave you on the edge of your seat, LITERALLY! When you finish playing this game, you will never look at video games the same way. Initially, I was worried about the move from classic Resident Evil-style gameplay, but after playing for just a short while, the over-the-shoulder camera angle became incredibly intuitive and VERY FUN! There is so much intense action in this game, starting within the very first few minutes of actual gameplay. A few minutes further into the game, you are bombarded in a town full of enemies! This can be very intimidating and difficult on your first try, so don't feel discouraged if you have a hard time getting used to everything the game throws at you (believe me, it gets much, much harder)! In fact, no matter how hard the game gets, there is always something to prep you for the next gruelingly intense part. Don't put that controller down during the cutscenes! This is one game where that will get you killed! While not every cutscene is interactive, you will learn that if you HAVE to pay very close attention to the cutscenes, as they are deceptively tricky (but relatively simple) from time to time. There is so much that the game developers put into this game that keeps your adrenaline pumping and your heart beating intensely! For any Resident Evil fan, this is a sharp turn from the series. In my opinion, it was a much needed refreshing look at an already interesting series, but with the work that was done to make Resident Evil 4 the game that it is, Capcom has probably made the BEST GAME EVER MADE! (At least for this generation of gaming!) This is a MUST HAVE! Now that the game has been out for a while, you should be able to pick up a copy for a relatively good price. Oh, and for replayability, you won't be disappointed! I have had this game since it came out, and I still play the Mercenaries bonus game (unlockable upon completion of the game) on an almost daily basis. There is so much to do that you will never be disappointed with this title!Read full review

Resident Evil 4 is really one of the best games out there. Definitely a top ten of all time sort of game. The graphics are a little muddier than the Cube but it's still ok. Easily the best graphics on any current gen system. RE4's great storyline and top character get you involved and you won't want to stop until the end. Well over 25 hours worth of gameplay here. No zombies here, just freaked out people who were created too late to audition for "The Thing". Boss battles are super hard and super cool. You'll fight tons of realistic monsters and die over and over. Dying is one of the coolest parts because it's always different. Cutscenes are gorgeous and you actually get to play through a cutscene to determine the outcome of a fight. I had so much fun playing I even almost forgot to get scared because my shotgun was doing so much damage. No multiplayer but the replayability here is great. Bonus weapons like Tommy guns, elephant gun, and rocket launcher all have unlimited ammo so you can shoot up the place as much as you like. Playing the special missions is also pretty fun because you can be Wesker or Ada Wong. In this version you also get to play some more missions as Ada than before which is a plus. You also get to try some different styles of fighting and weapons. The Resident Evil series is back in a strong way. Let's hope they keep breaking the mold. 5/5 (I'd give it a 6 if I could. It's on a whole other level baby.) The extras in the premium edition are worth the effort if you are a true collector. Lithographs can be costly so this is a pretty cool bonus.Read full review
I originally got this because one of my friends said it was good. So I borrowed his and liked it enough to buy. Initially the game starts out slow but will pick up rather quickly. Resident Evil 4 has enough action to keep you entertained for hours. It also offers terrific replay value due to its extensive weapon upgrade system, extra mini games, and secret unlockables. I can safely say you will spend many hours playing this. I can note one issue I had with this. The semi-frequent use of the button masher scenes. While not too frequent, they do occur in situations where if you are not careful, you will lose. All in All, if you are a fan of the series or just FPS games in general, you will like this.
Amazing game and amazing graphics. For a true horror game this is it (until RE 5's drooling good-looking graphics come rolling along on PS2). For a remake made for another system, graphics are still smooth enough to not distract or upset you from game play. Loading times are a bit longer than Gamecube but on avg of maybe a good 5 sec. longer depending on the level. Still not enough to make you upset. The voice casting, the tense environment (never know what's coming at you) and the difficulty of bosses and enemies are some of the best I've come across for this series. Not to mention the sweet endless amounts of unlockables, weapon upgrades, and extra character side missions(Ada Wong's story is enough to keep tiding you over). It's a great game. And obviously for good reason since it's been named "Game of the Year" in almost any type of media relating to video games.Read full review
