If you like Pac man, you'll love this one. If you don't, you still might like it. Its pretty much the standard "get chased around until you eat one of the limited number of power pellets, and then you do the chasing. One different aspect is that, after you clear a screen of all the dots(eggs), yo have to cross through streams of aliens, going in opposite directions, and make it to the top without touching any of them. Kinda like Frogger. So its like Pac Man/Frogger with an Alien face. The label is dark and sinister , and looks good in your collection. If you're an Atari freak, you should definitely consider Alien.

This is one of the best "maze games" (think pacman) on the VCS. Objective : Move your space marine around a maze from a top down view, and smash alien eggs by trampling them, but watch out for those Aliens! Review- -Graphics- The visuals are nice and clean, you can easily tell what each sprite is supposed to represent if you've seen the movie that the game is based on. The only possible exception is that the eggs are just single pixel dots, and not egg shaped at all, however as a VCS programming hobbyist myself, I can say that its a very forgivable compromise. -Sound- Nothing to complain about, and thats a good thing as there are some awful ear splitting games for the VCS. But its no pressure Cooker or Pitfall! 2. -Control- You move the joystick the way you want to move, the button uses the flamethrower, everything works as expected. -Gameplay- There are two stages of the game that repeat forever like many other games at the time. The first is a pacman style maze, you move your player around running over flickering dots that represent alien eggs. Clearing the board will advance the game. Aliens will chase you and kill you on contact, but you've got a flamethrower. Using the flamethrower you can stun or slow down the aliens and is mostly just good as a last resort if you get cornered. Getting cornered doesn't happen that often though, because the old pac man hidden tunnels are presant to wrap from the left side of the screen to the right. There are glowing lights that appear (one at a time) on the playfield and when touched they allow you to destroy the aliens for bonus points. I found the method of only having one available at a time is what really makes the game special and requires differant tactics than most other pac man clones. The second stage is more like another popular game at the time. You appear at the bottom of the screen and can move only up and down. You have to reach the top while running between waves of aliens that run from one side of the screen to the other. This stage is fairly boring and unessacary, the maze levels are fun enough to stand on thier own, this level is just a very poor Frogger rip off. -Overall- Fans of the movie and collectors should check this one out. And if you love Ms. Pacman, Mousetrap, or Ladybug, then this one can stand strongly beside them on your shelf. Pick it up!Read full review
As an Alien fan I was happy to find this game for my collection. 80’s and nostalgic, game play is typical for this Atari era...lame. But to find the game with manual and box, great price too, truly awesome!

A Good Game in a Low Resource Time, when the Videogames are a Forgotten Market, They do a Great Job.
