Street Fighter Collection came in 97 for the sega saturn and is a collection of Super Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha 2. While the loadtimes can be hefty(although still shorter then the playstation version)the game makes up for it with great gameplay and a legendary cast of characters. Graphics 10/10 : These are completely faithful arcade ports. The graphics on all games are arcade perfect and very crisp. The super street fighter games are quite old so the sprites look abit dated in comparison to the ultra smooth and fluidly animated sprites of alpha. However this doesn't stop them from looking nice themselves and being just generally nice to look at. On top of that the port here has the backwards moving animations and just plain larger sprites then the snes or genesis versions. Sound 10/10 : The game sound is crystal clear. All the voices shout out without a muffle.....its lovely compared to the snes and genesis versions. The music is legendary, all the tunes here are some of the best in gaming history. Control 10/10 : This is where the saturn version completely destroys the playstation version in every way. The saturns controller was made for 2d fighters and you will have NO trouble pulling off all the special moves. Gameplay 10/10 : Its the 2d fighter that MADE 2d fighters. It plays just as great today. There is nothing better then playing street fighter with some friends. Alpha is quite a bit deeper then regular street fighter 2 and honestly the alpha series is probably the best of street fighter. There are like two supers per character, a ton more special moves and even more characters. The game even has a few modes of play like arcade, survival and akuma mode where you fight akuma in different locations. Overall 10/10 : I wouldn't change a thing about this. You are getting 3 great games and although the price can be a little high it is much better then the playstation version for the load times and the controls. I suggest you check this one out if you have a saturn.Read full review
Wow as a Street Fighter fan this is a must have!!! If you can't go to the arcade or just want to bring the arcade home or just really like the Street Fighter 2 franchise, do not pass up this gem on the Sega Saturn. With faster loading times than the Playstaion 1 version and with Akuma and extra stuff in the Street Fighter Alpah 2 Gold version exclusive for the Saturn forget about the PS1 version and grab this!! I already own the Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the Saturn but when I heard that we could use the Cammy from the Capcom VS games I jumped on this Sega Saturn Street Fighter Colleciton. This excellent Arcade translation is spot on and don't miss a beat when it comes to the action, graffics, and feel. Grab yourself a PS1 controller adapter and buy a Street Fighter Anniversary Arcade stick or a MAS systems arcade stick and you got the real Arcade game sitting in your home. Sure the Saturn Arcade stick will do, but I opted to get the real solid Table/Cabnet type arcade sticks for my fighters after I bought the Sega Saturn Arcade stick. Now back to the games you get SUPER STREET FIGHTER II, SUPER STREET FIGHTER II TURBO, and STREET FIGHTER ALPHA 2 GOLD. All the games are perfect translations of their arcade counterparts; each fighter retains its moves and combination's, including fireballs and quick throws. When you win the martial arts tournament, you will discover that character's motivation for fighting. If you are a STREET FIGHTER fan, you owe it to yourself to get your hands on STREET FIGHTER COLLECTION. Street Fighter fans will agree that this is a must have for a Sega Saturn collection. It's too bad that the SF Collection 2 only came out for Saturn in Japan but I will get that one too because I own the Game Shark & Action Replay 4 megabit ram cart to allow me to play that sequal. If you are like me and want all the 2D gems and arcade games on the Sega Saturn don't miss out on this true Arcade collection/compilation. I got mine now go get yours. Have a blast from the past with the Street Fighter 2 cast.Read full review
Street Fighter Collection is a 2 disc game that consists of Super Street Fighter 2, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, and Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold(upgraded version of Street Fighter Alpha 2). Super Street Fighter 2 introduces four new characters to the series that include T. Hawk, Cammy, Dee-Jay, and Fei Long(making this game have a total of 16 fighters to choose from). The game itself is a masterpiece. The graphics are nicely done and the music has been remixed a bit. I like Fei Long's and Cammy's background the most as well as their background music. The game even added two different bonus levels that are fun to master. The super moves are also decent if you can pull them off. You also get decent endings with the characters once you beat the game with them. They are similar to the endings in X-men Vs. Street Fighter. My favorite characters are Chun Li, Balrog, Cammy, Ryu, Ken, and Fei Long. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is an upgrade that adds Akuma to the mix. In Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold, Cammy is now a playable character in Vs. and Practice Mode. This game is arcade perfect. It is definitely worth adding to your game collection. If you don't already have it, be sure to pick it up if the price is right. Buying it won't be easy because this game is highly sought after. The prices can reach $50+. I was lucky to get one for $28 off here. :)Read full review
