Sonic Chaos is often regarded as one of the best Sega Game Gear games with Sonic in it, and I do believe it is. Though not the best, for certain it plays much better than Sonic 2 for the same system, and implements the mechanics introduced in 2 in a much more refined manner. For its time and in context of the system controls and display, it is fantastic. However, somewhat easy bosses and small bugs, (probably due in part to the merciless design of its predecessor) take away from the experience to give it an unpolished feeling. Compared to modern platformers and the Genesis Sonic games physics and mechanics, it feels a bit strange and out of place nowadays. Definitely a great Game Gear game, but not one with enough replay value and game length to keep someone purely interested in Sonic platforming--enjoying it for more than an hour or two at best.Read full review

Two great Sonic adventures in the legendary Sega Game Gear, two adventures, double the fun! far a great experience to enjoy with low cost. Game Gear and its large number of Sonic games are recommended to have fun anywhere, the music, the settings and colors simply make it a charm at first sight. Sonic Chaos gives us the opportunity to play between Sonic and Tails separately in their adventure with many challenges, beautiful graphics and the charisma of each one.

Sonic Chaos(Sonic & Tails in Japan) is the third Sonic game that was released for the Sega Game Gear. This is the first Sonic game where you can play as Tails and the first game where Sonic can spin dash. It took me a while to actually like this game because I couldn't beat it with all the emeralds. I was determined to do it and I ended up victorious. Sonic is the only character that can collect the chaos emeralds. It would've been nice if both characters were able to get them. When you play as Tails, the game is basically on Easy mode. Tails can get to places Sonic can't, so you will have loads of fun exploring the zones with him. The graphics are pretty decent compared to Sonic 2; however, Sonic Triple Trouble surpasses them all. The music is cool too(Turquoise Hill Zone is my favorite). My favorite zones are Turquoise Hill, Gigapolis, Sleeping Egg, Aqua Planet, and Electric Egg. There are lots of hidden goodies and traps to be found in each zone(Sleeping Egg). There are five special stages and you will have to collect 100 rings to play them. The last two are the hardest to complete until you get used to them. I bought this beacuase I love Sonic games. Sonic Chaos will make a great addition to any Game Gear game collector's library. If you don't have this, be sure to pick it up. Enjoy.Read full review

Basically this is just another Sonic and Tails game. You run around and collect rings, kill robots, beat Dr. Robotnic. If you like Sonic games you will like this game. I bought this game because I was looking for as many Sonic Games as possible. I must say that this game has scrolling play like most of the games of its generation and has very good graphics for its time.
