Composed of four phases, Aquattack puts you in the role of Euram agent Captain Blitztek as you make your way through enemy territory to prevent the Axtoatles from assuming control of world forces.
The first phase involves piloting a hydroship along the Axtoale Canal, while avoiding death 'copters and tanks (and their firepower), and dodging sandbars and depth charges. Shooting the tanks is possible, but the helicopters are beyond firing range. Along the way refuel your hydroship by grabbing hydrocarbon gas packets, which are dropped by Euram craft appearing overhead. The second phase is similar to the first, but takes place in a tunnel and the enemies are tougher to detect.
Phase three puts players into a hang glider to assault stations that fire clouds of white methane gas and high-velocity missiles, all while dodging heat-sensing rockets that are fired from enemy hovercrafts. The hovercrafts are well protected by shields, but the assault stations can be destroyed by either shooting or flying through them. Extra ammo is randomly dispersed in black depots along the route.
In the fourth and final phase you will go through a field mined with mobile radioactive solar bars. You must transport four hydrogen bombs (one at a time) from the bottom of the Axtoale energy field to the top within a 99-count time limit. In higher levels of play, guard droids patrol the base. Beating phase four will destroy an entire fleet of nuclear-armed helicraft. After the final phase the mission begins again, but the action will be faster, the enemies more accurate and the assault stations more sophisticated.
