I used to play this game when I was younger, I remember getting it for christmas one year as well as pokemon blue, I was in toys r us and I got to pick put 3 games, Pokemon Blue, Godzilla and Dragon Warriors. Dragon Warriors at the time to me felt more like an adult version of pokemon, so I felt cool playing it. Later in my life I see dragon quest with a much deeper and compelling story. The combat was challenging yet not impossible. It had a rewarding sense of accomplishment after defeating a boss and having them join your party with you. At times you will get very frustrated as to what you need to do, at the time this game was out, you simply figured out what to do by chance, or with a game guide, in todays time you can simply look up what to do next on youtube or google. I will enjoy being able to play this game again. I give this game a 9/10 If you have never played a dragon warrior / quest game, I'd said this would be a good place to start.Read full review

I was about 10-12 when I first played this game. I am now almost 30 years old. This game brought back alot of fond memories of me ignoring my parents and them comically taking my Gameboy Color when I pissed them off.

This was a present, and it was a hit! The recipient loves this game, there is literally hundreds of little monsters to gather (and they follow you around if you can "tame" them). In my opinion its not just for kids, anybody looking for a fun monster-character game would enjoy this one. Theres no "blood" or real violence, its just fun, and it provides hours of endless entertainment. The monster characters are similar to those seen in popular cartoons and trading cards, and they can change. Maybe you havent heard of this game before, but if you give it a try I think you will enjoy it. Who wouldnt want to collect hundreds of little monsters? Excellent A+++
This is by far a very great game! If your into the idea of capturing and rasing monsters this is the game for you! A good nostalgic feeling when playing this old game! The graphics are good for its time but not as up to par with todays advancements! Overall an A+ game that you are sure to enjoy! A great edition to the Dragon Warrior Series and perfect for collectors :)
This game has great adventure and excitement. A wonderful story behind it and hours of fun and character building. There are many different monsters that you can create and breed, ect. ^_^ I give it a A++++ rating!!!! Very pleased with this game!
