Mortal Kombat 3 is my favourite Mortal Kombat game in the series. I've played a lot of them before, but not all of them, out of the ones I've played, Mortal Kombat 3 is still my favourite. Now, the first Mortal Kombat game I ever played was Mortal Kombat 3 for the Super Nintendo. That version has a lot more depth and much more to offer. And for it's time, the game had cool 3D-like graphics. For the Gameboy Color, this game is still good, but I can't give this version a 5-star rating, simply because it's not up to par with it's Super Nintendo counterpart. It's still a good game, but it's a lot more limited, unfortunately. The controls aren't as easy to adapt with compared to the Super Nintendo version. And if you have an old, worn out Gameboy Color that still functions decently, you might have just a little issue trying to appreciate this game a little more. That's my current problem, my buttons aren't quite what they used to be, but what do you expect? The Gameboy Color is nearly 20 years old now, so it's bound to have it's share of issues, minor or severe. You get a basic character line-up, shouldn't have to explain much about that, you know? Usually the same characters from the earlier games, just a couple new ones or so. Nothing exciting. The final boss, Shao Kahn is constantly in your face, so far, I've found him impossible to beat on Gameboy Color, too fast, too powerful and just too persistent. If you really enjoy Mortal Kombat 3 or any Mortal Kombat game in general, especially of the older generation, you might as well at least try this game and judge it for yourself, everyone will have a different viewpoint on this particular version.Read full review

Well let me start from the character screen, there are 9 characters which is nice, lets say I pick smoke, well the versus screen when you are about to battle the first character. Well the game dynamics are fine, bit better then the MK2. Graphics are very good for Gameboy, Music s pretty good as well, but the sound effects could be better. Also MK3 theres quite a bit of bugs, while MK2 for the gameboy is fine. Also during fighting, the characters when you punch them the movements don't make sense some times, well overall MK3 "average", i have to put average in quatations because I kind of do enjoy MK3, and dont absoulutley hate it, but MK2 is much better.

Pretty good port of Mortal Kombat 3 for the original Gameboy system. Graphics are pretty good. I recommend playing on the Gameboy Color or Gameboy Advance. It is hard to see on the original Gameboy (at least I think.)
Another gem in the Mortal Kombat series. This one offers better graphics and more options, different fatalities and easier game play. This is a must have. Graphics - 9/10 Gameplay - 9/10 Fun factor - 8/10
