The game play is linear and is a never ending demo punctuated by lots of interesting design. I am 10 hours in and I am still going through demos and being told how to play levels. What Disgaea does is continuously change the rules of the game, not allowing the player to get used to the battle system. Maybe some find this challenging, but I find it annoying because I can't enjoy the game because I never know what it will be next. The item menu is very short and forces you to store everything in an Item Warehouse, which is extremely hard to navigate and move items into your item menu. You have to do a kind of Windows keyboard CONTROL key highlight and toggle through the other menu to load items. You enter a level up world at one point and I forgot to load my ESCAPE ITEM, and it is NOT accessible in the level up world, forcing me to die and lose all my game progress. Honestly, the game feels like a giant bug full of great ideas and unfinished levels. Not sure why people love this game so much.Read full review

The game works like totally fine and the graphics rock! But like the guide is off on somethings though still rockin'! Oh and the story is like way past funny. Oh and I bought it cause of the sweet deal. I thought I would never win an aution, i'm so glad it was 'buy now' and plus it was a guide with a game toatally worth it. So I would totally give this a 10.
The graphics are more crystal clear anime compared to the pixel version characters from the first 3 Disgaea games. The storyline is very interesting and of course I don't wanna spoil it for you. I like the new monster fusion and the new skills, they look so over powered compared to the last 3 disgaea games~
