Learning Fun II features four word games designed to make learning fun, three of which are enhanced versions of previously released games from The Electric Company Word Fun. Word Rockets, Word Hunt and Crosswords are re-releases while Memory Fun is an all-new game.

In Word Rockets, you must complete flying words by loading vowels on a wagon and launching them into the air. You must select the correct vowel prior to launching, and you should take the speed and height of the word into account when lining up the wagon for the launch. In a two-player contest, the first player to complete 25 words wins the game. When playing solo, your goal is to beat your best time at completing 25 words.

Word Hunt has you guiding a monkey who is trying to pick up letters to spell three words of up to eight letters each. Fifteen letters are scattered around the screen. If you accidentally pick up a letter you don't need, you can dump it in the trash. In two-player mode you can try to figure out what your opponent is spelling and sabotage his or her efforts by grabbing the letters you think he or she is going to choose. After three minutes or when both contestants have completed three words, the players must verify the words.

Crosswords is similar to Scrabble in that players each begin with seven letters and take turns spelling words on a grid. Each word must connect to another. If you doubt the veracity of a word your opponent has spelled, you can challenge it by looking it up in a dictionary. After your turn, the computer will replace the letters you used with new ones. The player with the highest score after 20 moves wins the game.

Memory Fun is a matching game in which players uncover letters that are hidden by squares on a grid. You can play by yourself or against a friend via simultaneous or alternating gameplay; 44 levels of difficulty are available. When you uncover a letter, it will appear in your color (red or blue). Only letters of the same color can match. When playing in simultaneous mode, you should keep track of not only the letters you reveal, but the letters of your opponent as well. The game ends when all the letters have been matched.
