When I say the graphics are not good on this, I am speaking in terms of Atari titles at the time. Miner 2049er didn't compare well with some other titles, although it is about middle of the road in terms of quality. It isn't about the graphics with this game though. This game took me quite a bit of time to be able to consistently beat it without losing a life. I spent weeks, back in the '80s, working at getting as good as possible. Even when you are good at the game, it is always a misjudged button press that ends up killing you, and even when you beat the game, you are happy to start from the beginning to see if you can shave seconds from your time to get a higher score. For an old 8-bit game, this one is very entertaining. About the only thing that could improve it would be if they had changed things for subsequent rounds so they wouldn't just be a repeat of the first round. Maybe place the nuggets in different places, or have them move at a different speed. Something different would give even more time to enjoy this game before you just eventually die of boredom. I would say that children as young as about 7 could play this game, and adults will still find it a challenge.Read full review
