This game catches a lot of flak for not being as feature-rich or inclusive as it's Wii U cousin, but it's a wonderful game for the 3DS. While you can't search for specific levels or level designers, you can still play all levels created on the Wii U, it's just a matter of chance for who made them. The most important feature, for me, is that I can still play the 100 Mario challenge. The biggest downside is that you can only share your own level creations with other 3DS users through spotpass, and you can never upload your levels to the internet directly. If you own a 3DS and not a Wii U, like me, then this game can have tremendous value and you never run out of levels to play. If you want to share your creations with the world then you may want to stick with the Wii U version.

I've watched tons of YouTube videos and was really intrigued on this game until I got it after getting it it really was not what they make it look out to be. I'm not saying it's horrible and it probably is should be a lot better on the Wii U versus the 3DS. The 3DS is what I have it on and you really can't do a whole lot versus what you see on YouTube. The board's ain't that long there's not a whole lot of stuff you can use to put together your bored. To be honest I was kind of really disappointed. That's unusual Mario game disappoints me but I was disappointed in this.

Our son HAD to have it and he has played it non stop until today Christmas day, to check out all of her other toys! I would recommend any parent who's kid wants the game to buy it! Its exciting and fun and on long trips it keeps them busy! Doctors office- no problem, grocery store- no problem. Also a good grounding tool if needed.

This is by far one of the coolest Mario games. I'm teaching my 3 year old-daughter how to play Mario by making her custom levels. One's where she can't die so easy, or just has a blast catching stars and running through bad guys :)

Great portable version of a stellar game. My 6yo son loves to create levels on the go. We have the Wii U version of the game and even though it has differences (online being limited for example) this game is identical to the console version in his eyes. I like to think that it simulates creativity while at the same time giving us something to bond over.
