This is an interesting mix of two puzzle classics. It reminds me of Tetris and Dr. Mario on the SNES where you had the option to play either game individually or in a “Mix Mode.” Puyo Puyo Tetris is the same concept, but expanded much further. As the individual games are concerned, this title presents both games beautifully. The music and graphics are quite nice and the games are, at this point, perfected. The mixture of Puyo Puyo Tetris is where things get interesting. There are many modes where you face off against the computer or another player. You can choose if you want to play Tetris or Puyo Puyo and then you face off against your opponent. The Story Mode has cute anime style characters that play out a silly but fun story. It’s a good mode to play in order to improve your skills and earn in-game currency to buy music and backgrounds to play in either Puyo Puyo or Tetris. Also, you can buy other characters to use for other modes, which is little more than a background voice cheering you on when you do well. All told, this is a fun game and a worthy way to play either Puyo Puyo or Tetris. It’s simple fun but has complexity in modes, should you choose to dive deeper. The game is tetris and puyo puyo, that is basically it. there are different game modes that mix up the gameplay a bit like a swap mode where you play both tetris AND puyo puyo and the game boards switch out every 30 seconds or so which is neat but very tricky to get a handle of. The game at full price of nearly $70 is certainly not worth the price of entry but if you can get a good deal on it, it is definitely worth picking up as I find myself always going back to it .

Fun little game. Local multiplayer is good, online multiplayer is pretty dead at this point so don't count on being able to play against other people if those people aren't in your home with you.
