The games reviews are accurate, the controls are difficult to grasp making completing tasks at the start frustrating. Some of the tasks can be repetitive and graphics are very basic - there's a lot of fog. For someone who loves Superman though, the game still made them happy despite the gameplay itself.

I am a huge superman fan, but was alittle dissapointed with this game. It is based on the famous DC Comics character, this game became a legend itself when it released for the N64 in 1999, in a bad way that is. Superman 64 was often held up as an example of everything wrong with gaming at the time. Its underpowered graphics engine showed the downside of that era's rush towards 3D, with few on-screen enemies and severely limited draw distances. At the same time, the developers created the game around compromises (the game's pea-soup visuals were explained as being "Kryptonite fog"), rather than focus on the strengths of the Superman character. There were a few good points to the game as it did feature many of Superman's super moves in combat, and a four-player extra mode (with players inexplicably riding on flying vehicles), but the poor control and poor use of the license earned this game the title of "worst game ever" from many critics and fans.Read full review
My kid and I really like Super Hero's. We have been playing Spiderman for Nintendo 64 for a few months. She wanted more Super Hero games so we brought Superman for N64 and we love it. At first it is hard to grasp the whole flying thing with the joy stick, down is up and up is down but the cool thing about this game is that it has a Easy mode that is forgiving. You fly through the air past buildings to save your friends which Lex always seems to keep at just the right distance so Superman can't get them. Through the levels you gain super powers (Super Breath and Laser Eye Beam). You take on thugs of all sorts. Graphics are no match for the newer generation games but it is fun none the less. A great game for kids since the violence is low but challenging enough to keep a gamer occupied for hours.....Read full review
