As a child, my brother and I would sit around our tiny tv and play the only game we had at the time - SSX Tricky! That was 15 years ago. And now we're both a fair bit older but it still feels as amazing as it did back then! Obviously, the graphics can't hold up to the standard of today, but, by Christ, they were excellent at the time! The gameplay is impeccable and extremely immersive. I still hear my girlfriend telling me to "watch my language" as I curse and swear when I just get that Trick boost but fail to get the airtime and puss it for everyone to overtake me and go straight into last place! Naturally, it may only appeal to those of us who are of the age to remember this game, but, if you weren't old enough to remember or even born yet, play it. You will not be disappointed!

This game marks an interesting chapter in gaming history. First, the developers understand that if you are to enjoy a game, the soundtrack plays a big part. Second the interface and control system must be easy as not to stop you enjoying the advanced sections of the game. Third, not all celebraties are created equal. The game smothers you in a 5 star soundtrack from the beggining, prompting the essence of the objective in which you try to achieve; speed. And lots of it. With a whole host of tricks, bonuses and other wacky designs thrown in for good measure, SSX Tricky continually delivers hilarious and death-defying playability which will find you sitting in front of the TV asking "Why am I repeating the catchphrases to the computer?" An absolute must for anyone ISN'T serious about gaming, as the controls will frusrate gaming gurus due the ability to mash them and achieve the same result. Buy it for your son/daughter/niece/nephew/cousin/mum/dad/grandparents and secretly play it when they go to sleep.Read full review
