Mr. Driller is an action puzzle game that forces the player to dig underground as far as he can, mixing Dig Dug with typical puzzle games like Dr. Mario and Tetris. You must dig, but watch out for falling blocks from above, and chain reactions only add to the excitement as you dig like mad to get out of the way, only to find yourself in another chain reaction trying to escape the first! Coloured blocks can also be matched to remove them from the playfield much like a puzzle game by dropping them beside each other. While the game features a few modes such as Arcade, Survival and Time Attack, the lack of randomness in graphics (but not level layout), variety in music, and repetitive gameplay gets tiring after a while. Especially if you're having an off day where you're being squished left-right-and-center. Also the lack of a two player mode hurts it a tad. The main killer though is the lack of enemies. This is understandable however since the entire playfield is filled with blocks leaving no room. Though, like Dig Dug, it would have been nice to have some spaces with monsters roaming around. Mr. Driller is fun, but don't overdo it. Take it in small doses and it should last you a good while. Very good for it's value. You should be able to find it for a few bucks. Well worth it.Read full review
Mr. Driller is a unique puzzle game. Originally brought to Arcades by Namco in 1999, it was later ported to various systems. In this game you control Susumu Hori, a crazy man who can drill like there's no tomorrow. You must drill through thousands of feetin stages that consist of multicolored blocks. As you dig through the blocks, same colored-blocks can eliminate each other by grouping together, and depending on where you drill, you can form huge chain reactions. But the blocks can fall down and crush you, costing you a life. 3 or fewer same-colored blocks will only form one cohesive blocks that can possibly be used as a roof to guard from other blocks. Some large blocks make it easier to move great distances in a few seconds. Knowing the basic elements of the game is key to drilling to the bottom. Keep in mind that you have also have limited and vanishing oxygen supply down below, and you need to collect air supply to stay alive. The music in Mr. Driller game is bizarre yet pleasing and fitting with the general craziness of the game. The graphics, though not using the most advanced sprite animation on the PS1, are also excellent. The candyland appearance of the game give the feeling of drilling through a beautiful cake. Mr. Driller is a hectic puzzler that will constantly challenge you and keep you on your tones. The crazy setting in the game and the overall art direction is excellent. Though there are not options and modes other than arcade, time attack and survival, the gameplay alone is an enough of a reward to keep playing. Dig in.Read full review
Just as wonderful as it always has been! Takes me back to when I only had the demo for this. It's one of those obscure gaming treasures that's hard to find, but I'm so glad I finally got my hands on a copy! ♡ Thanks!~

I bought this product because I use to play it when I was younger and you can't find many stores that have Mr. Driller on ps1. I enjoy playing this game and trying to score even higher. The only place I could play this game is in an arcade which costed money to play. I would not buy this game again unless it is a different version and new features. This game plays just as it should and has in the past. I had no troubles with it.
Works great no issues and delivered on time
