Okay. The Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Unlike Megaman Legends 1 and 2, that have a distint story to follow, this game is more like a lot of minigames thrown into one. I'll try to remain spoiler free for those who dislike that sort of thing. This game starts off with Tiesel Bonne heading off to explore some ruins. When he gets to the ru8ins, he gets into a fight with an enemy and is kidnapped, along with Bon Bonne. It's up to Tron to make enough money (zenny in this game), Tron has to pull off missions to collect enough money to pay off the ransom. Missions include robbing banks, stealing food crates, stealing farm livestock, and exploring ruins, among other things. The missions are played over and over again with little differences for each difficulty level. There's no free roaming among towns or anything like that, unlike in Megaman Legends. Only the missions. You can also upgrade your weapons and other tools to help you along your adventures. You also have 40 servbots to command. You can choose which ones you want to bring along before each mission so you can let them learn from their experiences, so they can help you better in the future. The game is a lot of fun if you're into that sort of thing, but the game is a bit short and the lack of free roaming bothers me a bit. So while it's fun, it's not the best game ever. I give it an even 8 out of 10. I recommend it if you're into the Megaman Legends games. But don't expect them to be quite the same.Read full review
I bought this game a short while ago because I like the Megaman series. I've always been a fan of the original and I also liked Megaman Legends. This game is a spinoff of Megaman Legends, even though it takes place before Legends. You play as Tron Bonne, who gets to pilot a robot suit called the Gustaff. You also get to use 40 different Servbots in the game. You can train the Servbots, upgrade them with a special skill, and take them on missions. The goal of the game is to raise enough money to pay off a ransom to get Tron's brothers, Teisel and Bon, back. You "earn" money by going on missions to search for treasure, steal containers of valuables off a dock, rob banks, rustle up farm animals, and even take a trip to a casino. The missions cover many different game types, like action, RPG, adventure, and puzzle solving. -Good things- The overall game is a lot of fun. The action levels are fun without being tedious or too hard. The Servbots are always useful and entertaining in the field. Interacting with all the Servbots is interesting because they all have different personalities. Most of them have a special skill for combat, building items or research, or something else (like music, poetry, or cooking). You will have to use all of them to get the most of the game. There are minigames you can do in the gym room to raise a Servbot's stats. Later on, you can change the background music from Tron's room. You can even change the color of the Gustaff. One good thing is that you don't have to complete all the missions to beat the game. This is very nice because some of the harbor missions can be IRRITATING. -Bad things- Many of the little things in the game can be time-consuming, like upping a Servbot's stats. Upgrading the Servbot's stats can only be done to one Servbot at a time. Maxing out a Servbot's speed is somewhere between aggravating (yelling at your TV) to really aggravating (get another controller because you just broke yours). Luckily, there are items you can find to upgrade the Servbots. Moving from room to room in the ship can take longer than you want it to (probably will) because of the load times. This improves if you're playing on a PS2. The Servbots themselves can get irritating, especially if you don't like high-pitched voices. Unfortunately, there is no fix for this (well, maybe your TV MUTE button). -Overall- This game is lots of fun. I feel it's completely underrated. If you get to try this game, go for it. If you manage to find it, buy it. Glad I did.Read full review
This game is an absolute gem! Gameplay is a blast, controls can be a bit of a challenge in the beginning. Once you get the hang of it your going to have a lot of fun! Definitely the most expensive Mega man of the Playstation series. Well worth the investment, highly recommended picking yourself up a copy to own. Already halfway through and it's only getting better!
