This game is amazing in so many different ways. The Story line is amazing and is clearly one of the reasons why the company went so far with it. Although we know the graphics aren't as great, we should remember it was made in the 90's. One of the things I loved most about this game was the players free will. There are so many choices you make, each with it's different outcome. It'll make you want to play again and again. The soundtrack was one of the games top strong points. Each song perfectly described the stage and situation the player was in. It couldn't have gotten any better at that age of gaming. Now I wish they were able to use real instruments. The thing I loved the most in this game would probably be it's characters. Each character has there own unique story that defines who they are and why. Some of which are heart breaking while others are just downright funny. It also amazes me how they were able to make everyones storyline connect in some way. The mini-games in FF VII are top notch. They can't get any better since you choose what happens. It gives the player a well balanced time to relax and take a brake from stopping world destruction. (I know, it's weird) O_O; Overall, this game is perfect in almost every way. It's a must have PC/PS game. After all, this game made the PS1 so much more popular. I just hate the fact, though, that it was so expensive.Read full review
I bought this knowing the fact that I hold what will seen be a collectible. I love Final Fantasy VII because when it was first released, the graphics were way ahead of it's time for an RPG and it was the redefining point for all other RPG'S that followed. Not only were the graphics great but the story line was awesome. Final Fantasy has put together quite a few great story lines with their games. I must say with the latest installments on PS2 have been flawless now with also the online play and communities. It's amazing how far they have taken it. The only thing I dislike about it is the monthly subscription fee, but heck if you are into hardcore RPG'S it's actually worth it. Endless game play and has awesome replay value. I have been loyal to the Final Fantasy series ever since the first one came out for NES back in the late 80's. The other thing I would like to see in more games that follow from one to the other like they are doing with the Final Fantasy VII story line involving the new movie Advent Children and the new video game Dirge of Cerebrus both have ties to Final Fantasy VII. Thanks Squaresoft and Square Enix for many hours of great gameplay.Read full review
I originally had this game back in 1997 when it first came out. It may say "only" 60 hours of gameplay, but I put at least 125 into it. It never gets old, and the story line is incredible. This is arguably the RPG that took RPG's into the mainstream game play. Even by today's standards it holds its own. I imagine a rerelease with modern graphics and an expanded storyline would sell as well today as the original did 10 years ago. Without FF VII, the world of gaming would look much much different than it does today. Honestly, how many games have a 10 year life span? I cannot wait to get my hands on the game that helped to drop my college GPA a full tenth of a point.
What can I say? This game is an undeniable classic. It can't be touched by any other game. I wasn't able to find it for about six years. When I saw it on ebay, my jaw dropped. If you are an RPG fan, and you have somehow never heard of Final Fantasy VII, you don't know what you're missing. This game sets the bar when it comes to RPGs, and I'll tell ya, I havn't seen a game that comes close. I'm so disappointed when I play any other RPG, because it's just not Final Fantasy VII. I'm not going to tell you anything about the game except for these simple facts:Unforgetable characters, excellent storyline(its a classic), awesome music, and you can play it for-e-ver. Now keep in mind the game was made about ten years ago so the graphics are only as good as they could get them in normal gameplay. In battle mode however you couldn't ask for better. Sure, you could play another game. Yeah, and miss out on all the literally ass kickin', motorcycle-chocobo ridin', gatling gun-pistol shootin', Highwind plane flyin', gamblin', and did I mention ass kickin' fun this game has to offer. Besides where else are you gonna find a game with a villia named Sephiroth? Nowhere mofro. Do yourself a huge favor and chek this one out. Peace with chicken grease :)purpmunk@hotmail.comRead full review
I just bought the final fantasy VII (pc) game a few days ago, june 19 or something like that. and i was surprised how fast it got to my house. The box is shaped as a trapezoid, normally game boxes are sold using a square or rectangle shape, so this is very unique. The game itself was wonderful, considering its a 1997 manufactured game the graphics for that time was the best, and considering its one of the best selling games in Square Enix, A.K.A Square Soft, you can honestly why its one of the best. The games fun in all kind of ways; mini games, action, adventure etc. The only problem with this game was the system requirements. In order to play it, if you had an XP you would need a patch just to make it play in your computer, although the patch may or may not work depending if the game was compatible for the computer. In any case, I ultimately love this game, most addicting game ever. What's more is that you can change how well the graphics look, like nice and smooth. If anyone would choose a game I'd recommend Final Fantatasy VII for the PC and the Playstation Versoin.Read full review
