This game can be pretty fun if you're willing to put up with some of it's issues. Visuals are great with big and detailed sprite work, sound is mostly fine with some great tracks (Ancient Keep being the highlight), voice samples are clear, though the sfx can sometimes be weird and it's usually too loud (Jackhammers in Fiesta City will actually start hurting your hears by the time you finish it). Controls are pretty good though sometimes momentum can cause issues. Gameplay is solid, and the level design is usually fun, varied, and filled with different paths and exploration. The big issue is the limited view you have due to the large sprites, and many levels will have obstacles and pits that are difficult to anticipate. While there are ample opportunities to regain health and get extra lives, the game features limited continues (You start with 3, I think you get extra ones for every 500,000 points you get) and it will likely take a few runs before you can beat it. As you begin to memorize the stages it becomes a lot more enjoyable as you start nailing things that had been giving you issues and you learn where more and more secrets are. Your enjoyment depends heavily on how much patience you have for the trial and error this game is filled with, which I had quite a bit of. I found it to be pretty fun overall.Read full review

This game was a sore disappointment for me. Being a longtime Speedy Gonzales fan, and playing video games since I was a few years old, I thought this game would be awesome. Unforetunately, the only awesome feature of this game is that the sound fx, music, voices, characters, and picture are actually from Warner Bros. As far as gameplay goes, this could be compared to a really bad sonic the hedgehog game. The pace always changes from slow, to fast, to pretty fast, to almost a dead stop, it is never consistent. Enemies pop out to hit you at the worst times, and searching for the mice can be a pain (you're timed on each level, too). Worst of all, this game seems to be fairly big (only made it to the second set of levels) and there is NO save feature!! Basically, if you use up your few lives and continues, you start all over. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone (unless you like weird paced games, then try it)Read full review

Really cute game for kids. My kids love the game and is easy to play. It is really cute when Speedy runs around the area helping release the mice that have been captured by Sylvester.
