The PSP-exclusive release of Sonic Rivals finds Sega's iconic mascot in a high-speed footrace against friend and foe alike. Featuring side-scrolling action set within 3D environments, the game involves speeding across twisting, looping courses while grabbing helpful power-ups and avoiding deadly traps set by the notorious Dr. Eggman. Four playable characters include Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver, each offering distinct storylines as players advance through 18 levels of one-on-one races and climactic boss fights. In addition to the main story, the game offers both a challenge and cup circuit option for solo players. The former has players trying to fulfill objectives on a choice of stages, while the latter is a best-of-three race on a series of courses. Each mode offers the chance to earn one of 150 collectible trading cards, which can be used to customize characters or wagered in Ad-hoc wireless races against a friend.

This is a nice game, especially if high speed is a plus!
This is a nice game, especially if high speed is a plus. My daughter plays this game all the time and she is 5 years old. She thinks that the game is a little hard at the beginning but it seems that she is already in control of the game.

Great game!
My kids love this and played for hours on end!!!! Good game to keep the kids busy!!!!! The graphics are good and other games the kids have had didn't keep their interest long like this one did....I'm for sure no game expert but i also like games that aren't completely blood and guts and total violence and this one certainly isn't one of those!!!! This is a mom approved game!!!!

Only if you like repetitive games....
I like that the graphics are pretty cool, but the game is pretty repetitive. All you basically do is race your computer-generated opponent on basically the same track. Over and over. You have about 3 or 4 different tracks, but you race on each one 2 to 3 times, and then you have to beat the boss. And the tracks have the different colors and themes, but are still mainly the same track. I really thought that the game lacked the gameplay that you would normally expect from a Sonic game. I love Sonic, but I know that from playing this game, I will not purchase the Sonic Rivals 2. I just don't think that it would be worth it for me. But if you like monotonous games, then this may be the right one for you :)

I purchased this game for my son and he loves it. He gets bored very easily but this game definately keeps him focused. He plays it on a regular basis, and he is glad that I purchased it.Great price. Lot's of action. Kudos!!!!
