Ahhh....prong: one of the best kept secrets of the 90s. Rude Awakening made it's realtively silent release and has been on my playlists ever since. I had to re-buy this album because my first copy finally died from use and abuse. Now Rude Awakening safely sits in its case while the music rests comfortably in my mp3 player. If you like heavy music, Prong is a must-have. Great riffs and excellent rhythm make for an album that was ahead of its time. Buy it! You'll like it.
If you like Prong- Unconditional or Beg to Differ, than you should like this disc as well. Not as hard edged as the 2 disc mentioned but still worthy in its own right. Seems like Tommy Victor started hanging out at "The Clubs" because the disc almost has a "rhythmic" feel to it. Hard to explain but the disc is well worth the price if you can get it for $1-4.
I've always like this band specially the previous albums, but from this one, i like the music, it's so powerful and intensive.
All in all, this is as solid as any heavy album should be. Prong follow up "Cleansing" with another strong effort. This is music you can feel. Tommy V. brings the power back. This band's rhythm section is among the best out there. In a world of subpar acts, Prong delivers without missing a beat. So, if all you want from a heavy act is full on stomp ,and a dozen 18 gun salutes, then this band is for you. If all you want is the same old song and dance, forget about it.
