The jars are robust and literally last a lifetime. The bottling process of sterilising jars, filling them whilst very hot, fitting hot seals, closing the jars and simmering is not for the faint hearted. However the feeling of having successfully processed ones own produce, grown without chemicals (agricultural chemicals led to my sisters death) make the end result of using the preserved item in the winter so rewarding. I use them mainly for bottling tomato's for winter use finding that bottling gives better tasting than from freezing There are some cons in that sometimes the jars are reluctant to seal which with using a new rubber seal each time does increase expense. To me, from an engineering background, I think that replacement rubber seals are rather expensive. Overall I would rate the jars as 9 out of 10Read full review

They are traditionally-looking, heavy, precise and well-made. Exactly as one expect from such UK product. I can only recommmend them.
