hello old friend... If you recognize those three words and the meaning behind them, then you already know how special Babylon 5 was to science fiction television. I decided to revisit this series after 20 years and I was not disappointed in the least. Is it a bit dated? In some ways the answer is yes, but for the most part the answer is no. The CGI is old school and the some of the props are laughable, but those things are easily overlooked because of the depth of story as well as character development. These two arcs are the important aspects of the series that will pull you in each episode. This series probably will never make it to Blu-ray so this truly is your best, last hope for a few evenings of enjoyable thought provoking entertainment... or you can watch the endless mind numbing CSI ( insert city name here ) over and over as your life slips away. ( a group of forensic super friends defeat a serial killer, bomb, cyber criminal, terrorist, psychopath... ad nausea ad infinitum )...Read full review

What a wonderful series! A lot of people have had ambitions about creating their own future "Star Trek"-like universe to live in for a while, but few have pulled it off in such an overwhelmingly awesome manner as Babylon 5. It's smart, it's intelligent and it breaks the boundaries of 1970's and 1980's television. This series uses its first season to "lay out the universe" before accelerating into an all-out, ongoing series of storylines that boggle the mind. The show just keeps getting better and better. I used to watch it right after "Deep Space Nine" was on. Two hours of unique, smart science fiction was just what I needed after tough weeks of working hard. Be aware, there are associated movies that go with this series, including a future movie called "The Lost Tales" and a short-lived, "Crusade" series, 13 episode spin-off. Babylon 5 lived and breathed fire into its characters, and I have enjoyed getting to watch the entire series, from start to finish, for the first time now.Read full review
In that I love B5, there are no cons! It's the first Scifi story of the genre that kept things in a specific timeline. I'm a Trekker to the core, but B5 held a consistent story line. This is the first Scifi show that actually showed people using the bathroom!!!.....not the act, duh, but the fact that they had a bathroom. Every episode interlinked with the previous. There were even episodes that focused on specific people's lives. Awesome show! Wish it woulda lasted even longer.

I love that the episodes and seasons build on the previous one. The first season is the hardest to understand and it takes a while for your questions to be answered, but worth the time. When Marcus enters in season 3, the pace picks up and by the end of season 4 you just go wow! Great having the movies in the set.
